The episode where Gene died was a bit of a downer though.

I like Burn Notice
watching the penultimate series (2012, when it comes on at random)
but I know what happens in the last 2013 series.

Michael's got this knowing smile & eternal optimism
Fi's initially a bit skinny and demanding but her loyalty and aggression grow on you so she becomes very fit ;-)
Sam's a normal, pragmatic bloke
Jesse joins in after he realizes everybody's well-intentioned & aren't addicted to homicide
and Michael's mum Maddie, acts her age.

they take on underdog causes where the cops are ineffective
and have a wider motivation: to be seen as having been shafted & under-appreciated

other characters are ephemeral and convenient
but not all-together impossible
so it keeps me entertained.

iPlayer's been a bit thin on the ground for a few days, so we've been trying to find stuff in the ridiculously unintuitive 4OD... caught up on most of the latest season of Fresh Meat - still much funnier than it has any right to be - and introduced my lady to Friday Night Dinner, which is a proper gem that nobody ever seems to mention.

SHIT ON IT

A third season anyway. I'd only seen two... I think it's probably been on over the last 6 months because it wasn't there the last time Auntie wasn't able to satisfy my desires and I had to make do with watching Bettany Hughes doing her impression of Nigella Lawson teaching a history class.

I'm not sure i've even seen two, tbh.

Putting this Bogart and Bacall film on hold for a while..

I haven't seen all of season four yet so the season five opener is a long way off.

Whenever I watch that show I speak with a southern draw for at least an hour afterwards

I must say, I have incorporated "Oh that dog just ain't gonna hunt" in a southern accent into my everyday life very well.
