Brett Kelly (vishnu) is a progressive music producer from Perth, Western Australia. Brett first began making beats at the age of 13, when he was first introduced to jungle in Perth. He then moved to Northern California for high school, where he found himself addicted to the underground rave culture of the bay area (San Francisco/Oakland). By the age of 18, Brett was already playing out at warehouse parties in the bay using a laptop and MIDI controller. Soon after he was introduced to dubstep by local American producers Eskmo, Antiserum, Babylon System, Djunya, etc.
In 2008, Brett moved back to his hometown Perth. That same year he released his first dubstep EP digitally through Duster Recordings, which instantly gained the attention of producer DFRNT. Shortly after, vishnu joined DFRNT, and a group of other like-minded producers, to form Echodub in 2008. Their free release "Anechoic Chamber" was downloaded and praised from thousands of dubstep listeners around the globe.
In 2009 vishnu became well established in his hometown by playing at a monthly dubstep night called "Watt Hz." With his addition to the "This Way Up" DJ roster for the South Pacific, vishnu has established himself as a major producer and DJ in the global dubstep scene.
"I want to create music that extends both the digital and organic realms. I like to sample sounds of the Earth and filter it through my beats to subconsciously connect the listener with the world around them. I describe my sound as uplifting." (Brett Kelly)
Stay tuned for forthcoming music from vishnu on Echodub, Duster Recordings, Sub Continental Dub, Bassweight Recordings, and more!

We are happy to announce this new DJ Absurd release ! These two tracks come from Absurd's forthcoming album : Back to the (no)Future .
Even though the album showcases different moods & styles , this first single release from it is quiet on a evil techy & dancefloor-devastating tip .
"How we roll" starts with a combination of ravey arpeggios that would perfectly fit a vampire bloodbath party in a Blade movie to drop into a furious wobble that wont leave no dancer alive .
The crispy & powerfull beat & the mad hyped up bass gimmick gives make this tune what it needs to quickly become DJ's favorite .
"Contrast" sounds at the crossroads of some of rootsey dub influenced sounds and angry & fat wobbley basslines .
Don't get fooled by the dubbed out guitar skanks & the greasy dub bass going on at the begining of the track , the drop is just pure mayhem !!!
A good tune to use in a mix to go from reggae dub influenced tunes into some more techy stuff .
ON THE BLOCK EP ~A dangerous selection of dubs for the next Filthy Digital Release, as the label introduces 4 new members to the fam: Surpass, Kirkus, SymbL & Subliminal. Teeth gritting, face smashing, bone crushing, murderation! On The Block by Fragile smashes the gangster synth vibes & hustlin' vocal snippets with hard stabbing bass rolls. RumbleJunkie teams up w/ Subliminal on this monster of a tune, Deadly Zone! Old skool stabbing drums, bass synth wobbles & crunchy wavey bass hits. Gettn' Sum SymbL RMX is the Filthiest tune to hit the label yet. Bringing back the OG vibe on the vocal accompanied by heavy drums and dirty bass. Lies, Etc is Pure Phase's finest work to date w/ choppy cut up synth layers & off the wall futuristic dub wobbles that hit hard with a nasty synth bass hook. Surpass comes swinging w/ Knocked Out: Cutting edge synths & drums in the intro get you prepared for the drop, which comes with a knock-out punch! Intense wobble bass & stabbing synth bass accopanied by smooth layering synths & chopped up voc snippet. Last but not least, Kirkus drops a mean tune, Uppercut. Old skool intro drums that count in to a face melting drop that display mean synth bass stabs & your favorite fighter games samples.
Germany based Twisted is back with the deepness once again, in the fifth installment of our exclusive digital series. Pulsating pads and bouncy rhythms, where the b-side is remixed by his countryman TKR. Pure bass therapy.

Having already established themselves in the digital realm, San Francisco imprint Bassism Records finally gets physical with their 7th release. Form advocates of the view that Bass music is a global scene, Bassism's previous releases have featured the work of artists from Estonia to Spain as well as producers based within the YSA, and this first vinyl outing showcases the Finland sound of Helsinki duo Beep who are Olpek on the buttons, and CStar on the mic.
The wake and bake anthem is finally hitting the shelves!! 'Morning' is a breath of freshly picked sensi smoke, with a hook that will lock it on repeat in your memory bank to sing throughout the day. Olpek carries the Finnish Dubstep torch with this dancefloor gem. With the same complementary excitement as Clouds' 'Under The Dancing Feet' on Argon, crowds cheer and sing along as soon as CStar's voice comes in.
'Darkness' is quite possibly the prettiest Dubstep tune ever!! Mysterious, angelic, delicate, naked, but all the while arousing the bravery to conquer the fear of the dark, the unknown, the obscure. Vocoded vocals extend their softest hands to guide you through the offshore fathoms of space. Kiss goodbye the veils of venom to as you remain aloft in the serenity of confidence.

Fragile's "Bizarro World EP" (a follow-up to his single "Unabomber" on SHIFT003 -12") is a powerful collection of deep and dark dance floor destroyers. Teaming up with Chi on "To the Top" (a rap-infused roller that busts into into full-time drums and wicked percussion) to kick it off in true roughneck fashion. Track 2, "Bizarro World" starts off like a demented carnival on Mars and then just gets weird. A bubbling bassline, eerie Sci-fi samples and intense drum work show off his signature style of raver grenades.
"Dr. Manhattan" intro creeps from sad and solemn to downright scary until it erupts into a ripping bassline that absolutely destroys every time. Definitely a smasher of a tune! Track 4, "This is Spacerock", (with its undeniably catchy, reverbed vocal melody and mellow intro bass) drops into a devastating bassline that is probably considered felony assault in some areas. Shift is not responsible for any beheadings of any dancefloors as a result of dropping this tune.
Finishing it off proper on track 5 (another collaboration with Chi), "Mammon" is a rising roller with a growling, stabbing bass and haunting vocal samples to bring the EP to a nice smoldering close the only way they know how in Texas... BIG!
