yeah and KRS1 has stolen beats from hiphop producers without financial compensation here in the states.. happens alot really. high profile mc's, no matter how 'positive', are not the best look for the folks on the ground imo, there's a difference between people who look at studio sessions as somewhere to break ground musically and studio sessions as something to profit offa

i dont know the particulars of what you are talking, but KRS-One in it for the money!?!?!?!?!?

come on now

I'm done talking on this topic now.

Anyone actually interested in hearing how the other tracks and other rappers decide to work out, just keep listening to my shows on rinse in the coming weeks and i'll play them as and when they get done.

Anyone not interested, just don't listen to them.

like i said, i dont know the particulars at all, and im sure dude has character & business flaws (we all do) but... implying KRS is in it for the money just isnt true. im sure money factors into his experience, but imho he has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt its not about the money.

no no.. not saying that at all, what I am saying is that folks (producers) have to watch their shit... mc's and beat shopping is a strange biz - just gotta mind your production credits and not be blinded by stars.. just a general 'take heed' -

supremely interested by this all

the hip hop game is dirty as hell...most of the hip hop producers people love and know are buying beats cheap from dudes down low and just re-selling them..hip hop at a mainstream level is more or less about cashing in off of a name

I can't define what dubstep is but I think overall it's just focusing on the music...To be honest I don't like that snoop track at all and it's something I'll never listen to again, and I wouldn't EVER dream of throwing that in a set. I'm not saying that hip hop and dubstep couldn't be a sick collab because I know it can...I'm setting up some things with some underground rappers in NY as is to get on some dubstep tracks....but I just think like everyone else said, snoop & chase went at this at the completely wrong angle, and wild animals did nothing more but possibly chop the beat up and arrange it in 16-8-16-8-16-8...

I don't think a dubstep-rap collab should be written as a hip hop track....get a verse, let thebeat play...verse..beat play..I think that's the best way to go about it, and getting an exclusive beat made although snoop probably just heard this one and chased after it (non pun intended)

Hip hop and dubstep can DEFINITELY be put together to make some fire stuff, I've heard it before. However this was gone about alllll the wrong way and seemed like it was done fast just to get the hype out..maybe if snoop is really feeling the dubstep he'll get something exclusively made but that isn't how it works in the hip hop world either...

Most people don't sit down in a studio and produce a track for one specific dude, they say here take your pick. With dubstep it seems tracks get made then released..Somebody with a set of un-released hip hop vibes just needs to approach the man and make sure it's done right, leave "wild animals" out of it unless you're getting Murs on a dubstep track...I'd pay for that with the money I don't have.
