I really don't think this will happen, based on what I've read on KVR.

What!?

Imo RV7000 is a great reverb and scream is the tits aswell. Plus there is the new pulverizer, but can't comment on that as I haven't used it much yet.

Agree on the distortion plugin, new one would be nice.
but the RV7K is lovely, but again, wouldn't mind a new plugin to play around with.
anyone else on 6, still haven't collaborated with anyone on it
or can essentials and 6 work together? ;/

Yeah thats true, new stuff is always nice to play with.
Not sure if the files are compatible. I'm guessing you can open essential projects on 6, but I doubt the other way around as essentials doesn't come with all the devices. This are merely my speculation though

sounds right though!
didn't know what essentials had until I just looked into it though

I'm on r6 as well

Honestly, the RV7000 has cool features, but the reverb algorithms just suck donkey balls. If you've been on any other DAW you would know that i'm speaking the truth. Logic has some awesome reverbs, with the Space designer being one of the best plugins i ever saw. The RV7000 just doesn't sound natural at all, it's annoying. It works as an excessive reverb for FX sometimes or for deep percussive stuff (dark dubstep?), and even then... but it's horrible as a mixing reverb. It muddies it up before it actual glues anything.
All the people talking about "that bad reason engine", that's nonsense, there's no such thing, audio is just audio. The two main reasons you can tell someone is using reason is because of the bad reverb and the bad analog waves. They are responsible for that "reason sound".

disagree, i like RV7000's sound
and i only notice "that reason sound" when people do their mixdown in reason instead of recording audio via reWire and multitracking their parts. And even then its only when their mixing sucks. I think the cause of "that reason sound" is mainly just a bunch of Reason sounds being slammed through a Reason mClass "mastering suite" (gag)
Reason's devices just aren't heavyweight enough to push a full mix
For better RV7000 results:
use its built in EQ, experiment with the low shelf and boosts/cuts
follow it with a scream light tape distortion in the FX chain
experiment with using it as an insert during sound design/mix... presets like "empty club" , mostly dry, low decay, just to bring a little bit of definition to a sound.
use the plate algorithm for perc and snares
check out the preset "kick bomb" and reduce its decay (default is infinite) a bit for deep tones with a long tail
use as a send, and route the verb's output to its own separate reWire channel. render the reverb output and compress, EQ and sidechain it
follow with a stereo imager for widening

Couldn't agree more

, but yeah it also boils down to personal preference whether you like a device/plug or not

I'm not saying it's that bad, it's versatile and usable in a lot of situations, but it's not giving you that awesome placing in a room, which ableton or logic's reverb totally does. Honestly, that reverb is the main reason (i say reason a lot in a topic about reason, it's annoying :3) i rewire now. That, and the crappy analog waves.

Hey, so I got a problem.
I am currently using Kong as a sampler.
My problem is in that when I load up samples kong stores them all in the self contained samples folder and I go through lots of samples choosing what I want to cut out....
Eventually though It makes the file harder to open and load times long cause I have a million
samples that the song has to load up when I open the song
and sort the things in the file for the song.
I tried deleting songs and samples in the self contain folder I don't need but it won't let me.
I tried all different ways of clicking and deleting the song and samples that i don't need but it won't work.
I am stumped.
Feedback is greatly appreciated.

why not just use the nnxt

I perfer mapping my samples to drum pads and messing with them there because it has different features than nn-xt....
Like the drum pad mod matrix which enables me to have certain samples retrigger samples when played and others not retrigger.
Also, It's less cluttered having my samples mapped to drum pads rather than mapping them to different keyboard keys. Imo
Plus, I hated that kong was going relatively unused but since I started heavily sampling it has gave it a purpose.

so just bounce what you have done in kong and open it up as an audio file

True there's always that.
Still though it would be nice to know if there is a way to delete
samples in the self contained sample folder that way I don't always have to
bounce my audio.
thx for the reply tho.

It's a setting in your preferences. If you change it, samples you load up will not be automatically self-contained, and you have to self-contain them manually (if you want to pass on the .RNS, for example.
In the preferences under "general", there's an option "self-contain samples when loading from disk." Untick it.
Still though, i don't see why you wouldn't be able to delete the self-contained samples.
Also, if you have it in kong, you'll have it in any other sampler too. Try not loading them up but prelistening to them in the browser. (If you made a drum pattern with that note, when you go over a sample in the browser, it will use it in the pattern (you have to play the pattern, ofcourse), so without it going into the reason file)

yeah u just gotta watch and not load up a thousand samples. a minor workflow aspect you will sort out eventually

Weird, you were right about it being under preferences but it is currently unticked.
Well, in anycase I might just start to pre-chop my samples and then load them up.
Big ups for the swift replys tho.

In regards to reason RV7000 unit, i think its a pretty good device. It's quite flexiable in what it can do, and you can achieve all sorts of different reverb sounds from that one unit, but i love just to simply initialize the patch and start from scratch and create some real kool sounds. the algorithms it has it epic, the last one, reserve i think it is so sick! + for mulit tap too! Gate function is sweet too.
I so wanna get my hands on the alligator - i am a fanatic user of arp's and i would kill that new one

Anyone have any nifty tricks for automating EQ in Reason, or converting an audio signal to CV?
I want to be able to create a buss group and put it through an automated EQ so that whenever a snare hits, the EQ ducks the frequencies of the buss group quickly to let the snare through a bit... it would be nice if I could just convert the snare to a CV signal and then whenever it's triggered so is the duck, but I'm having a tough time figuring it out. There are no CV pots on the m-class EQ and only CV pots to modulate frequency on the little parametric eq's.
