I am also a cubase user.
It's great, it just seems as though the high price is what puts people off really.
Personally i don't love FL. You can make some real tunes on it, no doubt,
but it just seems as though there's an upper limit to the quality of the track made.
But that's just my opinion...

I'm pretty sure that limit is down to the user.
I have heard people make good tunes with a contact mic, and a dog turd...

For sure - PCs are better tools, but it's worth the sacrifice for Logic - to me, not that much of a difference between macs and PCs anyways, and I'm used to using macs, so...
Logic is perfect.
I used to use Ableton as well, and I respect it, but at certain times it can get SO FUCKING FRUSTRATING!!!!
but it is a powerful tool.
But yeah, logic NO DOUBT.

Idk couldn't pull out any specific examples, but just so many little things like when you have to push that pink button if you want to play in arrange view vs the other view. AND THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO SWITCH BETWEEN ANY VIEWS AT ALL!
idk logic just has a better workflow for me.
Skream uses logic. Datsik uses Logic. J-Keno, Emalkay, Subscape, Skism, Icicle, and many more.
I'm happy with Logic.

My Favorites:
FL Studio (first 'professional' DAW I ever had)
Ableton Live (awesome to mess around with; still learning)
Adobe Audition (great mixing/mastering plugins)
My Hated:
Cubase (never could adapt to it)
Acid Pro (LAMEEE)
Garage Band (i dont even)
Audacity (Cheap ass quality)
Haven't Tried Yet:
Reaper (probably buying today)
Pro Tools (I'm buying asap)
Logic (might buy if I ever buy a Mac)
Cakewalk (was going to buy this when I was 15 but got FL instead)
any others

Its a lot more powerful than what the first wave of electronic musicians had to work with. Also what is there to limit the quality of the track except the user???

It's redundant though because you can pull out big names for any DAW out there. It's worth noting too that until VERY recently Skream used FL, I'm pretty sure he still does actually, do you have a source for the info that he's moved on? Last I heard on it was in a Magnetic Man interview where Artwork and Benga were talking about how they tried to convince Skream to move to Logic but he just couldn't click with it like FL.

Okay, well as far as being redundant goes, I'm sure that one could pull out big names for any DAW but does it really matter? I mean, who gives a fuck really? Js.
And as far as the Skream FL studio/Logic argument goes, I believe the converting to Logic was fairly recent.
I saw in an interview that Skream! and everything before that was made on an old cracked version of fruity loops, but outside the box and everything else was Logic.
Idk he's somewhere on here maybe he can clear it up
I doubt it tho, seems like most of his posts on here recently are just about forthcoming releases etc - which I get, he's mad busy

All of your arguments are invalid; Reaper.
Unless you can get Skream in here, that argument's valid.
But even still, Reaper. It's the way. Ask any sentient bipod.
In 2015 I'm gonna be like "How did I ever do without Reaper 17.5?? This shit is crazy!"

I just read this thread from page 1. Jesus. Spent years on FL Studio, more years on Ableton, and now I've been using Reaper for a while. It's like the evolved DAW.. Got really cool sneaky features you find all the time. Futures_untold hooked me up with a great multi-out template for Poise. One question for other Reaper heads, can you hide certain channels along the bottom? When I'm using the Poise template, each channel (16 channels) gets lined up along the bottom. If possible I'd just like to see the one Poise track and not all the outs? Tried folders but that seemed to only work for the channels going down the left vertically,

Right click on the channel and uncheck 'Show track in mixer' to hide it from the mixer view. You can also do this for the main sequencer view.
Select multiple tracks before doing this to hide them all at once...

Ah thanks man! Big respect! There are zero negatives for Reaper now

Complete domination. I can only imagine what it'll be like in a few years!

Dang! I gotta get me a license for reaper!! Seems like they're being smart in allowing people to use it for free and giving licenses for so cheap...that motivates a bigger group of reaper users and provides better support and faster growth because the community behind it is bigger.
