It's not a 'two party system', TECHNICALLY, Johnson is on the ballot in every state and capable of being voted in (though obviously he won't... I'm just saying, the two party system is an illusion).

It doesn't matter WHO becomes president, practically speaking, except for shit like foreign policy. So when it comes to Obama vs Romney, you don't really get a big difference (pro-UN, pro-imperialism, uconstitutional wars). So there's nothing 'pragmatic' about voting either Obama or Romney. But getting another option on the debate stage and giving a third candidate a boost in popularity does seem like a practical. And I woulda said the same if a Socialist or Green party candidate was doing as well as Johnson is.

you may not agree with it but, isn't that what voting is about? if phigure wants to vote for a 3rd party candidate, let him do it on his own time. right now, he's voting for obama, why are you trying to convince him otherwise?
I haven't even been part of this thread in 2 weeks you pro-authoritarian jackass (oh, I know you will laugh it off, but I don't care). Get the fuck off it.

And it's not WHAT people vote for that annoys me (unlike you, bitching about Republicans and Romney.. while for the most part being pretty similar to them politically), but people being willing to give Obama a pass for a far more brutal foreign policy. I'm not criticizing a vote. I'm criticizing the hypocrisy in supporting bloodthirst because the team you're batting for is doing it now.
This. Fucking liberals. I swear, they just can't accept the fact that Obama is a piece of shit.

And yeah, Johnson would probably be my 2nd or 3rd choice behind Stein and maybe Alexander despite the fact that his economics are radically different than mine. FAR better than Obama or Romney.

And your guys' attitude towards voting 3rd party is really sad. No chance for change ever with bullshit attitudes like that.
c'mon scope answer my question with your own opinion, quit riding gene's dick all the time. he's gonna give me a fucking poo poo lecture about voting for obama for my own personal reasons all the while spouting shit about brutal foreign policy (because he's foreign) with no qualms about wearing a band t with izan imagery because ''it's all about the music man, fuck what they believe in''

yeah i'm laughing now. i nearly creamed my fucking pants when i sent in my absentee ballot ticked for obama. oooo yeaaahh how you like me now gene??? you can't even vote for your third party candidate so fucking sit back mothafucka

Nice ad hominem, douche bag. I disagree with Gene on a lot of things, I just happen to strongly agree with him on this particular topic.

I wouldn't vote for either as well. Even if it means a lost vote, I'm doing this already, voting Pirate etc. None of the others deserve my vote or have a decent program so they can all just fuck off. Which is my fucking right to not vote for douchebags, I would however vote for them if they represent my beliefs/expectations, if they don't whats the point of electing someone you wouldn't want there. Democracy is a bit retarded as well imho but let's not go there.

ive seen you throw this word around several times within this thread and i dont think youve ever used it correctly

just insulting you is not an ad hominem

"An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or unrelated belief of the person supporting it."

So, because I happen to agree with gene on this subject = I'm riding his dick = I'm wrong. Right...

see that's where you're putting words in her mouth, cause she didnt explicitly connect the validity of your argument to the insult. if you're gonna be that liberal with the definition of it, I can point to several instances where you're guilty of the same thing. she just told you to come with your own opinion, not gene's.

Its funny how on the internet you tend to almost see more fallacious calling out of "AD HOMINEM AD HOMINEM" than actually seeing the fallacy in the first place

no you're riding his dick because you can't manage to type up any of your ideals with your own words. not copy pasting, not going ''this'' after everything he says that you happen to agree with. never stated anything about being wrong or right, you're just seeing what you want to see, because you equate everything i've said to you as an attack. all i asked for you and gene to answer was a simple question of why not just let people vote the way they want to. gene came back with his typical asshole response, and you..well, you still have yet to answer it. i'm over it now though so fuck it.

Really don't give a shit how he or anyone votes. But this is a politics thread, so I just assumed, I don't know, we could disagree and say why we do so? It just really kinda annoys me when I say I'm voting for a third party and just get "lolwastedvote"

Obama diagnoses GOP nominee with 'Romnesia': "We've got to name this condition that he's going through, I think it's called Romnesia....If you say you're for equal pay for equal work, but you keep refusing to sign a bill that protects equal pay for equal work, you might have Romnesia."
