No, not since like... the nineties when history was invented.
Damn am I doing a lot of reading about ctr trying to find that article. Turns out I'm getting around industry norm of 2%.
The thing I don't understand is that everyone always sites ad values that are ridiculously low. I often get $1-$2 ad clicks, and even some $3 clicks, but all these articles always talk about .10 clicks and shit. I've gotten a few of those, truss, but... what gives, why do we get so much per click?
Also new header for chest kittens, would be interested in feedback.

ssssshhhhhhhhhh, don't ask questions like that!
p.s. the new chest kittens header is beautiful, way different than what i expected and makes a default theme all your own...

also, i'm bewildered.. how on earth are you doing the transparency thing? is it just transparent pixels... on your most recent post and the new header... the curtains are always omnipresent... it's subtly glorious.

It's rather bold. You should give the letters a stroke or something. Same for that pic. Just like refine the edges more. Then it'll look like you're looking through the square at her standing in front of the curtain backdrop. Dunno if that made sense.
Working on my money site at the moment. Learning some html formatting tricks. Basically using Amazon's page as a reference and recreating it. Throwing down a fat dnb mix in the background too to keep me motivated. 170 bpm supercharges your brain.
Gonna go do some article marketing soon, so we'll see how much that helps.
Once that's done, it's blog work time. Gonna be an all nighter, hopefully a productive one instead of watch youtube documentary > tire out eyes reading articles on dry topics > fap > oh no, energy gone! must resist.... > sleep
Fuck, trying to get html styling in wordpress to work. Trying shit over and over, hitting preview for it to be the exact same as before...
makin that face.

The author of that fact suggested cutting all low performing web assets that perform below this threshold. I don't know if it is true, but I'd like to optimize my ads further in an attempt to get my ctr above 5%.
I haven't actually logged into Blogger yet, what can you do to optimise other peoples ads on your blog? Just change the location and things? I know from the AdWords side of things (the people creating the ads) the higher your account CTR the less you pay for a click. e.g. If my adgroup has a CTR of 5% I could get a top 3 position for 8 pence p/click but if it was 0.5% if would cost me 20 ppc.
Maybe they pass a similar thing on to high quality blogs with good targeted traffic?

You definitely editing the right css file? IIRC there are two with basically the same name. I think you want style.css?

This confuses me. You are saying if you are buying ad space on adsense publishers, if your ad's ctr goes up, you pay less per click, but if your ad's ctr goes down, you pay more?

haha, no transparent pixels, just using the curtain as background w/in the image. I really like my prior line drawings, but I don't think they work with the curtain background w/in their frame, if you know what I'm saying, being a bit inarticulate. Just really kind of clean and graphic with the white background, but I think I like these oily paintings as well, so will be using those curtains as background.
NOTE this is an old post that I had sitting in a browser window... losing it.

Pretty much, not exactly that you would pay more per click, but your bid wouldn't get you as high a position as it would if you had a high CTR. I can't remember the exact formula but it also depends on the characteristcs of other bidders above and below you in the paid keyword positioning.
I should watch this again my memory is a little hazy.

This is in terms of advertiser ctr not publisher ctr. Like If I paid to have an ad that no one ever clicked on, google would figure out that it sucked and would charge me more to show it.
As for optimizing ads, they do give preference to better sites, so more traffic and clicks means higher paying ads. You can tweak the placement and formatting to try to get more clicks. Keyword density has something to do with it as well, the more a keyword appears the likelier it is to be targeted. More relevant ads > more clicks > more advertiser competition for your site > better, more relevant and high paying ads
I didn't pay for the css unlock on wordpress and I'm not hosting it myself so I have to do all my styling inline in the html. It's gay. Blogger wins in that respect. The only reason I'm using wordpress is because someone else already has the url on blogger. And this particular site is going to be amazon affiliate ads so I don't need adsense. The next one I do will be back on blogger though.

Yeah i would recommend looking at comments on other blogs and following as many as you can. Most will follow back and you have the added bonus of knowing that those commenters are active, i've just had to delete a bunch that haven't been updated in months cos they were clogging up my follow list and making it a pain in the arse to search through every day.

why dont you just use the dashboard?

I do, but when i'm scrolling down the list looking for recent updates to comment on it's taking twice as long due to a ton of inactive blogs. I sometimes just look at the recently updated section on dashboard but not everything shows up there.

It'd be sweet if you could filter it by who's commented recently too. Some people update their shit but never comment back. Need to put together a shitlist.
You essentially just need to do a few runs of commenting everyone. The people that hit you back make it onto your nice list and the people that don't end up with coal in their stocking. My recent commentors take precedence, then I go to my reading list and hit up whoever's in there.
I wish you could be more obvious about clicking people's ads n shit. Advertise "Ad Click Saturday" or something where you click the ads of your recent commentors. People would love you.
You could drop hints in the comments I suppose "Oooh your advertisements are so relevant and interesting to me! " haha the goog would be like <subtlety.filter.engage///banhammer.execute>

Yeah "All blog updates" tab, just shows random updates for me. Plus i'm following blogs i don't comment on like matrix synth who post 50 updates a day, i end up just scrolling through the list of blogs i'm following.
