It suprises me that people are calling this Om Unit/Danny Scrilla/Cosmic Bridge sound footwork... Most of it's got more in common with Drum & Bass than it has footwork. They do have a few bits that are footworky admittedly.

My other channel started by accident really and didn't really have good focus or direction. I thought a fresh start would probably be better to firstly not have to deal with the threat of a label deciding to pull another one of my videos (I am on two strikes), I make sure to get clearing from the artists now before uploading tracks so that won't be a problem again. Secondly having consistent branding means that it helps get my name out there a bit more.
Just announced on twitter,
HYP001 Kode9 Xingfu Lu / Khan. Due out on Vinyl and Digital on 29th April
I think that numbering should be HYP010?

I don't think it's footwork in the traditional sense but it's not dnb in the traditional sense either. People just call it footwork because they have nothing better to describe it as (and this is why the area is so exciting).

seemd to be the norm i thought
... nah. most of the stuff om unit makes has pretty much nothing in common with juke/footwork.
i quite like that rashad & addison groove tune. and the kode9 one, although some of these really high pitched noises he's getting into aren't very pleasing to my ears.

yea not at all similar except the drum structure and tempo
only the basis for nearly every other variety of dance music

fueled by the frustration and pissed offness from that i cant go see addison groove play at a warehouse party tonight, i now present you my latest track
I dunno I feel like not including Om Unit et. all. into the Juke/Footwork crowd is akin to how people looked at Burial as not being dubstep, he probably isn't really dubstep if you follow the strict definition but by being so associated with it he has helped keep the genre diverse and open to experimentation and not just snare on three and wobbles. It goes to show that Juke and Footwork doesn't have to live in an exclusive tight box of 808s and chopped vox. Like most genres its the people that are somewhat on the outside of the strict definition of the genre that really bring that forward thinkingness that moves a genre forward. IMHO.

There's 3 Om Unit tunes. I'm sorry but if you think any of them sound even remotely like juke/footwork your are off your fucking nut.
He has got some stuff based on that sound obviously (the Dream Continuum/Phillip D Kick stuff) but most of the stuff he makes has absolutely nothing to do with footwork.

Yeah, I think that is a good point actually, it's not dnb, footwork or hip hop, but it has elements of all those things.
