Bristol, UK’s Rob Sayles, aka Actraiser, second release for Haunted Audio brings some amazing original material. “Apocalpyto” focuses on dark Latin-tinged beats with rolling bass assembled in the most unique way, while “Let It Rain” is the strong soulful deep garage/dub followup to “Nevermore".
Happy new year, everyone! With a new decade comes some new music.
To cleanse my musical palette of the darkness & filthy textures of Biohazard, I employed some winter vibes for this collection of tunes. Winter In E Minor is a cold, cold night when the sky turns jet black at the early hour of 5pm. The upbeat feel and playfulness of Temporalysis is watching snowflakes slowly drift down out the window whilst you sip cider by the fire. Soul Solstice is a road trip through the snow covered mountains of Pennsylvania. Until Sunrise is spending a very late winter night with heartwarming company.
Sending a plethora of love and respect to everyone that helped make 2009 such a kickass year. Out to everyone who continues to tune in to my shenanigans every week on the radio. Out to everyone who's been supportive of my endeavors since I decided to dive headfirst into the production & mixing of 140bpm bass heavy music, whatever the hell you want to call it. Out to my fellow Sub FM DJs and listener family. Out to all the people buying tunes and supporting the scene. Out to Kochlear...even though his guitar work is absent on this EP, he still took the awesome picture for the cover (and gave us a hilarious holiday show with his MC stylings). Out to my new friends, the wildly entertaining NEPA crew. Out to the Philadelphia & Wilkes-Barre scenes. Keep throwing the parties in 2010 and I'll keep showing up!
Here's to a big year! Let's make this shit happen.
To represent Dubsaw Recordings for this their debut release, who better to step up to the plate than Culprate! Signed exclusively to Dubsaw, Culprate is already making a filthy hole in the scene coming with a teched out glitchy style that proves devastating on any dance floor. “Don’t do that” is an epic tune with a really musical edge, the intro builds into an explosive drop of hard hitting bass and beats. For the flip a very naughty partnership lay down some serious bass face biznizz!! Suspect and Switchdubs’s “Rotary” is defiantly not for the weak hearted. This release is getting heavy DJ support from the likes of Trolley Snatcha, Stenchman, Flux Pavilion, Broken Note and many more, heavy artillery for any DJ’s record bag.

Denver resident Rumblejunkie and Dirty Circuit Records bring the heat once again with ‘Everyday’ a two track weighty Dubstep release. With signature heavy bass rhythms, reggae vibes and comedic stoner antics, ‘Everyday’ lights up with head nodding drums, booming kicks and rumbling basslines. Following is ‘Kaptain Krunch’ with spacious playful drums, synths and a drop that oozes sludgy full bass, boss beats, deep rhythms, and rocking, subtle samples and drum elements. Pick up these tunes digitally for your next session from Dirty Circuit Records at Beatport, Digital-Tunes and Addictech January 11th.
BRAP DEM! Recordings present the HALLUCINATIONS EP from NTRLD. Hailing form the SF Bay Area, NTRLD have been turning heads and smashing dances with their well produced, signature psychedelic, and occasionally pop style of bass music.
HALLUCINATIONS is tunnel of stepping drums bathed in a pool of mind altering dub-bass.
Included is a remix by THE BASSIST who alters the original into a higher state of consciousness and ups the dosage.
JACK HERER is an ode to the infamous cannabis activist via a Dubstep composition that playfully brings stoned whimsy to the dance.
Hellfire Machina & Code of Arms from NYC introduce a smooth flowing EP to Filthy Digital Recordings. Fresh off their releases on the Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture Volume 2., these lads come with a serious tone. First up, Dore from the Code of Arms crew brings us a beautiful tune with the elegant mystic bagpipes hook! This one goes down well on the dancefloor & gets people moving. Hellfire Machina's rendition of 'Sexy Ladies' by famed House/Techno producer Christian Scott from NYC, brings a more upbeat vibe. Deep rolling bass, smooth drums & an interesting breakdown which throws you into a scratching break pattern. Switching up the pace, Code of Arms member Nebulla featuring Chromatik punch out a smooth roller of a tune. Slowburning intro that progresses into a feelgood drop. A cool guitar lick gets introduced part way through the track & completes this head bobber. Soroka from the Code of Arms camp introduces a unique sound to the Filthy Digital imprint. A melody driven feel with mellow bass synth wobbles & enticing hook vocals accompanied by a deep sub-bass with tripped out synth melodies. Both these crews are on fire right now & look to be setting new standards in the Electronic Music world. Be on the lookout for much more from Hellfire Machina & Code of Arms in 2010.
