i saw some of them, thought it was a real shame for such a great day to end like that :(

edit - especially as the carnival was created in order to stop future riots in notting hill, and to let everyone celebrate multiculturalism

Yeah funny thing is, the city i am in now their is BARE riots going on down town, i mean BARE. The republican party is in town so all the labour + republicans are avin' it. When I'm at work you will see about 10 undercover cop cars in a row zooming down the street because the next riot has busted out.

Search st paul xcel energy center republican riots or so if your interested. But yeah it is a shame. It's just wierd knowing that a few miles away from where i am there is cops in full force armour and shit busting up people.

aye it is a bit weird knowing that is going on so near you, reminds me of when there were those riots in london between pro-capitalism and pro-communism protestors, i was up in central london at the time with my dad, we saw a police line about 50 metres down the street from us, with protestors struggling to push past them, throwing bottles etc. whilst people around us were doing their shopping, completely oblivious to what was going on just down the street! :o

yeah i should imagine they get a pretty crap time of it in some situations,, , still i can also understand why a lot of p are so angry at them, they essentially represent 'the man' on the frontline so get most of the shit directed at them in this kind of situation, if you get me?

that was really badly worded i realise.

Yeah, sometimes people forget police officers are human beings i guess. It wasn't that badly worded ha.

aye i mean there are some who are just malicious stnuc out to cause trouble, and frankly i think they deserve what they have coming, but some of them are alright, but still get shit as they are tarred with the same brush as some of their very un-professional colleagues, and like i said they are the enforcers of the laws of a government that not that many people are keen on anymore - which is probably the root cause of a lot of people's dis-like of them.

nah, most of them are power hungy bullying stnuc, always have been always will be, that is why everyone hates them.

it is the type of job that attracts that type of people. I am sure some are OK, can be OK in the right situation, if you catch them in the right mood.
