It can also mean just changing the sample rate(like from 44.8kHz to 44.1 kHz), which is not what you're interested in. I think I saw what Budspecertron did there

but yeah i think we all have to remember that guys like misantroph, phace, billain and noisia are like the best of the best at what they do! not saying that its impossible to get their sound someday, just very very hard to understand the exact way

You know, i have heard those terms being thrown around interchangeably more often than i hear GANGNAM STYLE being blasted at a pre-xmas party (TOO MANY FUCKING TIMES) Can you please tell me the simplest difference between Bouncing and Resampling?
Bounce = bounce the audio. for example, convert a midi note to a wav file.
Resample = Apply a FX lightly several times while bouncing a new file instead of adding another instance of the plugin. This way, you can do some extreme shaping to your sound without having it sounding dog shit because you cranked a plugin. You also get to save a lot of cpu because you don't have 9584958 instances of the same plugin running.
Thank you so much, now that thats all cleared up i dont have to sound like an idiot all the time haha
Anyways the song i was working on is almost done and i will upload it soon!

Made this from a recorded vocal growl, don't focus on the automation and structure just put it together to see how the bass sounds in it's first stages. I granulized it and FX processed it
^ God damn that is a gnarly ass sound. It's not a reese though, but if you processed this a bit further (make it more spacey, throw a bunch of reverb on it) It could sound cool as a sort of "background fill" if that makes any sense

Set an lfo/envolope/automate some phasers, chorus, blah, blah, ect on your reece.
Automate different settings on them like dry/wet, speed, feedback ect.
Bounce and chop.

Cheers man! Yeah at the stage it's at now it could be used for a really sick reverberated/low passed growl by shaping the envelope on it , might keep going with it and process like a reece with some detuning and chorus etc.
Just played the tunes in your sig, really nice man, good work

Processed it further and pushed the sound quite far, what do you think? I'm pretty stoked with the results as the bass came from a thin foley growl
the reece would start at 1.19 but yeah haah pretty much just random sounds so far Soundcloud

Hey guys could you give me some feedback on the reese that I just made. Be easy though, this is literally the first reese I've ever made, the first time I've even touched DNB and the first time I've really tried EQ modulation (outside of the synth itself) based on some of the Tips that I found reading this thread. If can give you my creative process and how I processed it if you would like. Though I do cover it in the video itself. I have it written down on paper, so I don't forget that shit, because surprisingly for a first attempt, shit doesn't sound half bad. Excuse the melody and drums btw, there a tad half assed. Any feedback is welcome, good or bad. And please watch it in 1080p for the love of shit. BTW sorry for not uploading on soundcloud I don't really use my that much and its reserved for finished tracks either way, and personally I find youtube easier, idk why.

It sounds like you did a little too much, in my opinion anyway. That lunacy reese from massive is nice as it is and you had it sounding pretty good before the last resample (where you added the vocoder etc). My advice would be to bounce the version before that and cut it up. You can get a lot more out of that sample by chopping it up than by simply bouncing and putting effects on the same riff. Add different filter movements, reverse, stretch each cut and process each of the cuts separately (chorus, different reverb sizes, stereo spread on selected cuts).

Haha damn good job. That is some proper sound design

Okay sounds good man, and yeah It's lunacy but the bulk of the reese is coming from a saw wave a digigrain III I believe. I put lunacy on there because I just wanted to try it out. I hear its good for reeses, but even though I watch that Dodge & Fuski tutorial like 3 or so months ago, I don't like there resse's at all. Lunacy by itself sounds weird to me for a reese. I might even mod the patch and take it off and another saw or just leave it alone, I don't like it at all. But, does it really sound over done? The vocoder is being automated so the mix only hits 100% for a split second then its back to 0. Hmm.. I will dick around with the first resample and add some different filter movements and get back to you. Thanks

The overdone thing is just personal preference really. I love reese's because of the character they have, so I like to keep keep as much of that in the final product as I can. If you like where that sound is headed than by all means keep doin work haha. I do think though that cutting it up and processing each chop individually will definitely give you some more interesting sounds though, would love to see what you come up with

Yeah I know exactly where your coming from so it makes a lot o sense. I sort of like the most recent resample, because it has a lot of vocally character, but I won't be using the full sample, and not nearly as much. I started fiddling around with the second resample, and I'm trying to make some more interesting dynamic EQ modulation at the moment. I also remove lunacy and am now just using SQ saw and Digicook 2 with phase and Position modulation I believe. I was going to consider freq splitting the bass, and attaching the vocoder to the high end. But idk if that will sound particularly good. What I really need to know is, are their any tutorials on how to use Ohmicide. I really don't understand Multiband distortion at all.

sorry but I must weigh in on the o so precious reese bass thread I've come to adore:
Huts reese is nice. Has good harmonic content and modulated well. I think that it could be processed further for some NASTY results as the base sound is quite good and that's the thing we all want to mess up too fast.
Axol: It's a very organic feeling sound. I'd make it crunchier and modulate it faster for some nice atmospheric stabs. Your further processed reese has too much metallic-ness for how thin it sounds. Beef that baby up. mid range punch?
Bud: Dude, that song is gnarly. I love it. At times the arrangement you have does sound like a bunch of random sounds placed together, like at the drop around 33s but from then on I really like.
Unless you have something really interesting, don't turn this thread into useless displays of half ass'd sound design please please please. Don't just whip something up...Push that monster as far as you can

thanks man! yeah i know very random haha but i guess its just some kind of learning tune, nothing serious but gives many possibilities to try new ideas. really want to get better at the technical side first so i can just do what i want to do in a actual song
