The new trap shit is replacing brostep, I keep seeing producers release "trap" remixes which are basically bro-ish tracks sandwiched together with hip-hop drums and sub lines.

Trapstep. That's right, you heard it here first...

Its fun to drop into a set, lets the crowd slowdown a bit and get them ass's down low.
I prefer a good remix hehe. i dropped this in a set last friday... everyone in the club thought it was just a throwback and got excited for that.... than when the trap drop comes in lol they lost their minds in the place.

that and wubstep and chillstep, glitch step and a few others...said to me in a completely unironic way. I made a facebook post about it and everything, that shit pisses me off when producers try to give their own work a new subgenre name....like i said earlier, man the fuck up and admit your just make somehting that is out there and be about it, rep that shit. There are alot of reasons i want to dissasociate myself from the what most people think of as dubstep, or even try to highlight how i think my music is unique, but the truth is i make dubstep and thats all there is to it...neurofunk inspired for sure but in the end it is only what it is.

Best night I've had for ages. Eclair fifi set it up nicely. TNGHT fucking smashed it. The hype is justified

With Timbaland claiming he created dubstep I'd say were already half way there

First heard Trap when I saw that Reverb on the forum was making it.. had someone explain it to me, sounded neat but still confused as to why it needs a new genre.
Heard some of the trapstep stuff, some of it's interesting but most is just cheap attempts at fame.
I started a trap tune last week, pretty fun to make, definitely different than what I'm used to. Still no idea what I'm doing though.
I am not really digging the sound right now. But really excited to see how it progresses and what people can do with these sounds.

whatz GM noises? gangsta music? i can't believe you listened to 3-6s insturmentals! Some of them are pretty bad and some are pretty good but none of them are like 'wow' to me. That's coming from a fan. They're also terrible in concert, imagine that! Juicy J has been quite active recently, I think he's mainly in my age group now but I did hear one of his tracks on the radio recently. I bet he would spit on anyone's track for $5k.
these get stuck in my head

GM = General MIDI. The default MIDI instruments and sounds, the cheesy trumpets, drums and choir type stuff.
Triple six instrumentals were dope when I was growing up. It was all spooky sounding Halloween music haha. That was like the 90s though, shit sounded different back then altogether.
Yeah Juice is real active, Paul has been experimenting with some dubstep type stuff the last couple of years.
They are still great live imo, but constantly look like they will pass out at any moment.
