I think that is one of Rocks more sensible posts tbh

because it makes sense to sell a player so as not to lose the player 12 months later.

Not that part tbh, but having said that, it's almost the situation with Lewandowski in Dortmund last season. Ok, they got a second place in the bundes and got through in cl, but they could have got a transfer fee and tried to get someone else that then might've been part of the starter by now.

It will come down to whether Suarez himself tries to force a move, and he does have previous in that area

It didn't really help him last season and Liverpool's position was weaker then. There's only really RM that can afford him that he'd agitate to go for.
And hubb his value isn't going to decrease over the next 12 months we are going to have to deal with his loss when he goes but suggesting we do it this year so we don't have to do it next isn't sensible.

Theres an interview somewhere of him recently saying he doesn't think he'll ever play for anybody apart from Barca or Arsenal. Arsenals midfield is strong, he's not the player he was and £35m is a bit steep for a club that don't really spend big money on players just cause of their status. If Barca want rid, he has no other option but to go somewhere other than Barca or Arsenal.
Still don't think we'll get him.

There's absolutely no chance of him leaving barca for anyone else imo.
The already made a huge mistake with Thiago, not least in the eyes of the spanish public. And Xavi is old now.
But I don't see why Arsenal would be interested at all tbh. They have a few players of a similar level on the same position and a hierarchy is easy to upset with Wenger holding the whip.
There's only really RM that can afford him that he'd agitate to go for.
You might know something extra, but like If Hazard refuses psg then they might try, despite not needing another attacker or winger. Just as a profile signing.

He's on mad money I don't think he'd agitate for PSG. It may be a challenge keeping him if RM come knocking but the rumour around is that the release clause is 100m after he signed the extension in December.

I would have Fabregas over all our current midfielders

Hazards already registered as no.10 next year so thats pretty much him sorted for us.. I was worried as Jose came out and publicly said he's been disappointed with Hazards tracking back all season and he was to blame for one of the At.Madrid goals, but seems they've sorted it out and he's staying.
Thiago was a mistake but I dunno if thats comparable to Fabregas, he's getting on now. Xavis too old to sell and won't leave, Iniesta won't leave and they won't wanna sell him.. with their transfer ban coming up they may want to cash in on Fabregas while they can and replace him with someone younger.. or a couple of younger midfielders. The transfer bans gunna cause them some trouble if they don't replace their ageing midfield.. selling Fabregas may be their best option to do so.
Thats all I can think of anyway, otherwise no point in selling him imo.

Ive seen the light.
Yeah but seriously if someone said to you who would like to play for:
A)Real Madrid with Ronaldo, Bale, Modric
or
2) Liverpool with Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho

That's one club where I've admitted we'd have trouble keeping him, name another that's likely to meet the release fee?
That also wasn't the part of your post I objected to it was the daftness that thinks we should sell him this year so we don't have to deal with selling him next.

How much is Suarez's release clause, £80-£100m?

100m apparently

Yeah looks like Real and possibly PSG could try for him.

Release clause don't mean anything unless he wants to leave. If anything bidding the release clause when he has no intention of leaving could raise his value. He rejects but perfect opportunity for an improved contract = worth more.

I meant to mention Xavi to say that Fabregas is going to take his spot now that he is older, in that sence. Xavi has just been too good to neglect but now it's becomming a physical issue. So the opening he was expecting three years ago might come now. He's been played in that other fake 9 role too much imo.
Not that he has fallen through per se, he just hasn't been able to show that he is among the best from that position imo.
Hazards already registered as no.10 next year so thats pretty much him sorted for us.
One of the few aspects of Hazard I respect was when he went out and critisized Mourinhos playing style.
I believe that if Hazard is clever, he will try and cement his position at Chelsea and that the shirt number might have a calming effect, but that he now has a credible excuse ready if critics thinks he isn't developing into one of the very best and can just blame Mourinhos style. It's a question how long and if Mourinho could accept that.

And I'm not sure just how attractive PSG are it's not like it's a great league or he'd make that much more money. I think he'd want to go to Real hopefully Ronaldo threatens to go on strike if they make someone else the most expensive player in the world.
