its funny that nowdays I am seeing tracks standardly listed as including the producer in the main title
i.e [Artist] - [Track Name][Prod. by ......]
This never used to be the case, even if it was huge producers like timbaland, premier, alchemist or whoever...
Does this mean the game revolves around producers more these days? will people not give tracks the time of day unless they have quick access to who is on the beat? I'm used to having to search small print credits to find the producer

I think it probably reflects the fact that killer MCs are harder to find than killer producers at the moment, tbh... if someone's going to convince me to listen to 2Chainz, they're gonna have to tell me who produced and I'm pretty sceptical of non-J.U.S.T.I.C.E League Rick Ross records... but if it's coming out on TDE IDGAF.
Did The Black Album start this trend? That was the first disc I really noticed it on, anyway...

"Up in them five star tellies sayin two mic rhymes
be them average emcees of the times.
Unlike them, we craft gems.
So systematically inclined to pen lines
without sayin’ a producer's name
all over the track.
Yeah I said it! What 'cha need ta do, is get back
to reading credits."

Since you seem to be buddies with him, could you ask him to stop ruining otherwise perfectly listenable songs with his verbal diarrhoea?

Nah man, I don't care who likes him. I'm just sick of hearing his pointless struggle bars over everything from 'Fucking Problem' and 'Mercy' to the new Chrisette Michele song. Give me one instance where a 2 Chainz feature has improved an already good song. Most bad rappers I can just avoid listening to them, but this guy is on fucking EVERYTHING.

I think it probably did start with the black album tbh, but I don't see the problem with doing it. Producers put just as much effort into a track, if not more, than the rapper, who usually got all the credit. A terribly produced track with decent lyrics will never be a good song but a really well produced track with shit lyrics can be.
