BunZer0 invites Bredren




This last year I could check a very tight and interesting mix played by Bredren in a party where I was booked too.
Really liked their 170BPM approach with deep, dark and minimal vibes.
So it took some time to find a date for them to come on the FOB Show but finally we will get them on SUB.FM today !
They are also booked at Outlook Festival this year so we thought it was the right time to promote our gigs over there.

Bredren :

"Bredren is a collaboration between the dubstep duo Requake and one member of the Belgian drum ‘n’ bass duo Orphans. The three met each other at a local DJ contest in Belgium in 2009. Back then, Adrien and Sebastien (Requake) had not yet started DJ’ing or making music but were both heavily into drum ‘n’ bass. Not long after meeting the Orphans guys, they decided it was time to have a go at DJ’ing. Requake was born. It wasn’t long until both of them started to get intrigued by dubstep. Sebastien picked up production and started making dubstep tunes at home. This is all history and right now, having released numerous tunes on labels such as Subway, Dubstar and Bassclash, Requake will be familiar to anyone who knows their dubstep.
In the meantime, the Requake guys had become good friends with Dieter (Orphans). They decided to forge a new collaboration between them under the guise “Bredren”, focusing mainly on the deeper and more experimental side of drum ‘n bass. The boys have only been together since around early summer 2011, although their discography causes to think otherwise. Having released tunes on imprints such as Basher’s notorious Proximity label and the Dutch Break-Fast Audio and being supported by Loxy, Skeptical, Data, Foreign Concept, Basher, Xtrah, DBR UK and many others, the boys are currently working on their first EP which is due out in june on Proximity Recordings. Other running projects include collaborations with some highly respected names in the drum ‘n’ bass movement.
When live at work, they aim to bring you a deep but versatile journey through some of the darkest corners of bass music."

After a week spent in Croatia at Outlook Festival it is good to be back on radio
Got bare new stuff to drop but the today's focus is one amazing exclu mix the man Quantum Soul recorded for us !
Quantum Soul tunes only in the mix so that gonna be a proper showcase !


Quantum Soul :

"Quantum Soul is a long time dub-head, and advocate for the deep as well as the heavy aspects of what has come to be labelled 'bass music'. Initially drawn into the dubstep scene in 2007 due to his association with Ranking Records, Quantum has had numerous releases on many labels over the years. He has never been one to shout about his sound, instead preferring it to evolve organically and to find its own place in the 'scene', wherever that happens to be.

Those familiar of his music will know that Quantum stands for timelessness and the pursuit of perfection - something which he acknowledges is never possible, but that is well worth striving for. For people unfamiliar with his sound, it would be fatuous to say 'it speaks for itself'. The best way to describe it is that it is built with the purpose of sounding as if it were grown, and that it is intended to enliven the body and well as enlighten the mind. Quantum Soul is inspired by the sounds of the universe, which is to say, he draws influences from all the myriad of sonics which intrigue him".
