Pretty much. Any respectable Korean restaurant should sell it, the point being that you can get silly drunk while you eat.

I prefer sake myself by a long margin. Korea has some okay beers though.

I think it's just a common misinterpretation, it's pronounced the same way.

Haha, no worries Mr.Aural, I'm never serious about these things, just like to act a little twattish, that's what the internet is for. Seriously though, it's pronounced SAKE, it's just that this particular "E" doesn't seem to exist much in the English language. It's pronounced more like "okay", so "Sakay" is closer to it, than Saki.
now that we have that linguistic debate out of the way:

Yes: Sake's certainly better flavour wise, but if we're talking devestation wise, I think soju still one ups it. I'm a beer man myself, haven't had any Korean beers unfortunately, the Jap beers are all a bit too easy to drink. As a born and raised Belgian, I like my beers bitter, but not as bitter as American Pale Ale's, I need those hoppy flavours and those aroma's!
