Yeah I do, Sterling was our best player in the second half of the season, we finished 2nd with the worst defence in the top half almost and we have to strengthen there, Sturridge only scored fewer goals than Suarez and I think the manager knows what he's doing.

It's going to be tough Chelsea are going to be better as will Manchester United, Everton are going to miss Lukaku and Dufelwhatever and Barry,

So I used to subscribe to this but you know what if Liverpool spent a billion to win it I'd celebrate it like it was my first.

Hypocrites R us

sure if you buy the best players of the world and you win wouldn't be the same happiness like wining it last season

one of the reasons we fell short last season is because we haven't been able to keep up with the bigger spenders we've been left behind and didn't have the players or the squad to do it. I have no complaints with that but it's going to be incredibly tough to win without throwing fuck loads of money at the squad.

Idk I feel conflicted but then I can't point the finger at Chelsea and City because Liverpool spend more than pretty much everyone else bar about 4 clubs

Money was obviously a massive part of us winning but the whole "Chelsea brought the title" is so OTT. Roman took over in 03, Jose came in 04, we won the prem & league cup that season spending £100m.

It took Man City over £1bn to get just the prem. I'm sure loads of clubs have spent over £100m and not won anything.

The money meant we could compete at the top and attract top players, it didn't mean we won it effortlessly. United have always been one of the richest and biggest spending clubs in the prem, I'm sure their fans haven't failed to enjoy their history because of it and it certainly hasn't undermined Fergies achievements. Its the fact we went from poor to rich that people hate, if teams have always been rich nobody really mentions it.

No, they were at about Tottenham's level before

City were nobodies, they probably would have been relegated again by now if Mr Sheik hadn't come along

I prefer to think of it as Carrol and Suarez for Babel and Torres otherwise it's fucking nuts.

In any case Carroll hurt us more than Robinho hurt Manchester City or Torres or Shevchecnko hurt Chelsea. Clubs extend themselves because fees are crazy it's your ability to cope with them not working, City Chelsea and to a lesser extent Manchester United can Liverpool can't

What about when you bought Stewart Downing for £20m

It was slightly less but yeah that was part of a squandered investment that really hurt us. We got about 1/2 back on Downing and Carroll so thank fuck for Allardyce.

Really? Didn't he play for a year and then you shipped him out on loan then sold him for like 18m?! That ain't that bad.. considering the Torres deal was done in the same year and hes still getting games for us.

We'd be lucky to swap Torres for a kitkat atm. Fuckin jobsworth!

He wont leave unfortunately. No club will match his high wage. He's on like £175k a week. His contract doesnt end until the end of the 15/16 season :corncry: whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
