that was kind of in jest. but i remember going to south carolina i think and there were whole shops (stores) just selling confederate flag paraphernalia, there were even t shirts with the confederate flag saying "if this shirt offends you then..." AKA "im not racist but..."

Patriotism is all just a load of bollocks, and it does lead to xenophobia and rascisim you have to say. Support your nation yes, be proud of your nation too but loving your country is just plain stupid.

England shirts/flags/ect. are pretty awful and tasteless but fair enough if you really want to wear them. The point i think is that a lot (majority probably) of the people who are patriots are gonna be xenophobic and racist even if they try and hide it. I honestly think that a HUGE proportion of the nation are just trying to be PC and hide their real feelings about forgieners and other ethnic backgrounds. We have a real problem its just being covered up. IMO

ps. 99% of the time anyone says "i'm not racist/xenophobic/homophobic/a dick/the bee knees... BUT" chances are they are just about to contradict themselves bigtime.

) and is an Indian woman has brought an England flag and will most probably wear it around her shoulders in the pub watching the football and cheering as if she's got any idea of wtf is going on. Pretty harmless and its a bit of fun.

BUT....

I think people who wear England shirts and flags IN FUCKING ENGLAND are bigger tossers than stnuc who wear university hoodies WHILST AT THAT UNI.
