you really wan't to start comparing LVB and JSB to dubstep? fuksake.
Where am I comparing anything? I'm just stating that Beethoven and Bach have a lot without vocals, I can add up Paganini and many others without them... Steve Vai, Kyus, all great music...
Need reading comprehension lessons?
Edit; did I mention Beethovens 9th vs The Widdler's - Jersey Devil? Nahà I didn't...

mIrReN... I like my name how it's spelled (;D) and yeah you're right (( I'll go and erase all my music without lyrics, hope I have some gigabytes left :'(
Edit; The Widdler - Jersey Devil has no vocals btw apart maybe from the "aaaaah"
Edit2; and Beethovens 9th does contain chants lol
Edit3; + Same on you! You should know there are chants in it, it's the European theme song (lol theme song, sounds like pokemon)

if you look back at what i wrote, i didn't overtly mention vocals. people just assume that for something to be considered a song, it *has* to have a vocal. Greensleeves is a song. it has no lyrics. what i'm talking about is that all these anonymous sound-a-like records are doing nothing to develop the corner of music that we occupy. if someone applied the same writing techniques of the people you mentioned to the template, they would be properly on to something. but from what i hear (and i do really listen to it all... i have to in my job), no one does this. they just shift beats around differently on step sequencers or try to make the most convoluted fart noise possible. basically, to my ears, it's starting to get very, VERY stale.

yeh the fuckin english dictionary is wrong mate. the english dictionary is wrong and you are right, people assume that songs have to have vocals just because the dictionary says it and thast the entire point of the words "song" and "tune" having different meanings, but you're right, and tehrefore youve rendered your argument entirely relevant and i will continue to read your posts with a second thought.

Now I know why you didn't reply to KingThing and others' posts... Because you have no arguments and listen to the shallow surface of dubstep, big ups ² you, enjoy your life further on bubye

Those aforementoned artists already have penetrated deep the minds of the intellectuals (I use that word casually, not proper). The people who grew up with pop and rock are the ones perpetuating the generic club tracks and making dubstep a remix standard for mainstream tunes.
This genre will, like most, grow within the mainstream framwork until it burns itself out and recedes back to the under ground where the aforementioned artists will continue to reside.
ALSO, how come no one has mentioned Eskmo? That man single handedly has the pop sensibilities, unique sound design and music theory know-how to do exactly what you claim those other artists cannot do...strike at the heart of the masses.

Some one the other day tried to tell me that drum and bass is 130 bpm and funtcase was the one of the first dubstep producers.
I'm starting to hate dubstep now just for this reason.
Whats wrong with some lfo bass? Or do you mean really poor borgorey funtcase esq style bass? Coki has produced some of the best dubstep songs with wobble bass...

It's getting a bit boring seeing all these threads moaning about Dubstep becoming commercial. It seems there's at least 1 per week. The simple thing to do is to ignore the rubbish and play/support the stuff you like. How can something so simple be so difficult for some people to do?

Jupiter, shut the FUCK up. Dubstep is what it is and amongst the shit there is plenty of good music, just like in any other genre around. Also, your "dubstep needs more songs, less tunes" argument is fucking batshit insane, they're basically two words for EXACTLY THE SAME THING.
