Atleast someone sees the point here!!
Anyone who says they're a real dubhead or started listening to dub when it first started and you think ur opinion is greater than others, fuck you and no one cares... :t: that's basically all i gotta say lmao... the old school dubstep, new school, whatever it may be, they all got their good and bad sides, it's all based on opinion. Get over it, your notion of a good sound is different than anothers, soon as you learn that, then my friends, you can truely skank on! :i:
It would give you a more informed opinion no? Spending time with the genre and being educated has to count for something imo. It was told to me by several house heads that they turn up their nose when someone just all of a sudden decides to do house music. Like you aren't really a house dj if you don't know who Mr Fingers is right? Dubstep isn't as bad with that shit but still I get that weird look on my face when a local "dubstep" dj tells me they HATE horsepower or something. Point is, everyone has the right to voice their own opinion but that doesn't mean people are going to take you seriously.
More informed opinion or not, it's music bro... not math. If you think ur opinion is greater than others because you've been litsening to the genre for awhile, I personally wouldn't take you seirous lol. people who do that come off very arrogant and childish. As for your last sentence... you basically just reinforced my statement but with abit of the arrogant twist  . I can't believe you went as low as saying you have to know old school stuff before being considered "part of the gang" lmao... If you're not accepted because you dont know old school stuff... personally i'd be with a diff crowd. But... that's just my opinion. *serious face* All im saying is never look down on someone unless your helpin em up
Absolutely, my friend. I just got turned onto dubstep last winter, and if that doesn't make me "cool" enough to make dubstep then fuck that crowd, they're not in it for the music, they're in it for the kudos and the recognition of that shallow crowd.

Yeah, I agree with OP... It has become a huge issue, saddens me a bit, but there are a lot more people listening now. I liked it back when almost no one knew about it, and the sickness was more private. I have to admit as a "novice producer" I tend to go more to just general electronic music these days than dubstep, but it keeps pulling me back in, and I love it. The structure, the vibe, the filth. All of it.

But with that said, there's still time to be inventive, create new things, start revolutions, bake cake, and deep fried biscuits filled with spicy chocolate marshmallow ladybugs covered in bacon. :r: (Maybe with a dash of Cayenne)
