Yeah, I don't really care where an artist is from either, but since the question is "UK or US?", it's gotta be UK for me by quite a distance. I'm not from either country so I don't have a bias but the UK gave us Mala, Pinch, Loefah, Untold, James Blake, Mount Kimbie, Instra:Mental, Ramadanman....I could go on. I can't really think of a US producer I like as much as these guys. But if we're talking more on the experimental hip-hop/electronica side, then yeah Flying Lotus and most of the Brainfeeder crew are doing amazing things.

BELGIUM! Lawl, the only miniscule thing i notice between the 2 is that UK dubstep seems to be more heavily influenced by Dub, Garage, and Grime, where as American is more electronic-y...if that makes sense.

Where do you live? The scene seems pretty big in the U.S.

Illinois. I know it's big in Cali and Colorado, but I haven't found a consistent dubstep venue round these parts.

This is my take on the dubstep scene in the USA.

It all depends what region you are from. In the south it's a lot of hipsters and scenesters who are hopping on it because they enjoy the big sound and party atmosphere. However, on the West Coast the psychedlic aspect of dubstep is drawing a lot of people into the scene. I love the fact that I can go to dubstep shows and see 50 year old hippies decked out in Grateful Dead gear straight GETTING DOWN. It's awesome.

Also about the hoopers...who reallly cares?? Personally I think watching a skilled hooper is a beautiful thing, especially those awesommeee LED hoops. As far as the east coast and midwest...its a mixed bag. Lots of people that just enjoy big sound and partying, hippies, scenesters. etc.

The scene here is pretty much exactly what you would expect of a scene in America. Different people liking it for differrent reasons, and beccause of the producers putting out alll sorts of styles. Also for some reason American girls LOVEEEE dubstep. I think its because the bass feels good on their.....

Actually I like producers from both...there are just so many more in UK. And like most things in the American music scene, as it gets more popular it gets devalued. Still, there is a lot of great stuff coming outside of those.

The american dubstep scene, in my opinion, is slowly dying. For this big rave here in Austin they actually booked Mt. Eden. Every other show is tearout. There are a few good shows down here but they're quite rare.

its just posers who suck. once they move on, we will have a great core of people we picked up along the way.

i just played before Gemmy in Buffalo and this was the tracklist (recording up very soon).... so yea, we are keeping it real and dropping knowledge if you really look for us.
