I guess a pretty good analogy is power steering - if you're interested in getting from A to B as easily as possible then you want a bike with gears and a car with power steering. But people who enjoy driving for its own sake sometimes prefer no power steering and people who enjoy cycling for its own sake sometimes prefer fixed gear. In both cases, it makes the feedback loop between your body and the road a bit tighter by taking out some extra machinery.noam wrote:some of my friends drive cars they're fun toomagma wrote:I took out the needless specification.frank grimes jr. wrote:I ride a bicycle, it's fun, gives me energy and it's a great way to stay in shape.
