none of these guys were the first to make these sounds, they are just their interpretations of music that has been around here for quite a bit over here (imo)
I don't think he's biting him overall, not in the slightest, but that song.... come on Fractal. It's a bit close. Still, it's a good track on it's own, just like I like that Volor Flex album.

crushin on me is good
If Burial made a whole tune that sounded almost exactly like 'Digital' than perhaps that point would carry more weight.

you don't know when he wrote it, to be fair. cactus sounds like night hunter, but i'd never heard night hunter when i wrote cactus. for all we know FF could've written this tune years ago. either way it's no big deal - neither this nor cactus is exactly groundbreaking. it's not like anyone bites on boddika for using a 303.

i wouldn't say cactus sounds that much like night hunter.. just some good wobble around 130.. percussion in the french fries tune is what makes it sound similar but only for that first bit.. if static_cast doesn't care then probably not that big of an issue

Using a synth ≠ making a track that sounds A LOT like another. Whether it's groundbreaking or not doesn't really come into it does it?
Anyway, this is making me sound like I'm a lot more bothered than I am, I like some of French Fries stuff, I just thought that this tune sounded like Cactus, and I can tell where this discussion will head if I don't nip it in the bud now.

Definite elements of Jam City at the start of the track, as it progresses it reminds me a lot of Kingdom with those stabs. Sick track still

I was expecting a lot worse when I read this, but now that I listened to the clip I think it still sounds really good. Old version has its rough charm but the new breakdown sounds way cleaner. It's a bit different, but I don't think you should let it ruin the whole tune for you.

Yeah I'm exaggerating a tad, but I really loved that bit. Made a ghetto edit with a 192kbps clip ripped from his XLR8R mix, suppose it'll have to do

Come on guys, all music influences itself.
Few producers are making something entirely new.
It's just reinterpretations of other sounds.
IMO its just pushing the UK bass sound forward and into the future..
