Thought I'd post the video again and get a second opinion.
It's the heavily distorted screaming/yelling wobble at 1:29
Any thoughts are very welcome
Got to pop out now so made a very quick patch that might help you out.
Not sure if you have the same version of Massive as me so I made a screenshot instead. If you like I can try help you explain what I done when I get back if this was the kind of thing you was looking for.
Obviously after this use other distortion effects to get the desired sound.
Merry xmas !
Thanks for the screenshot. That definitely helped. It was a little small though so I couldn't tell if you routed 1ENV to OSC1's wet pos. and Filter 1 cutoff or a different ENV. I was also curious as to whether I should just key in the individually "yah's" or make them wobble somehow.

I'd like to make a more exact replica of the high-pitched screech with the sub underneath it in this song around the 2:45 and again at the 2:58 and onward mark. There's a similar effect in Ruffneck, but I like this one a lot better
Sounds like perhaps a formant saw?

I am just curious what you guys think their technique is for this.
It sounds like FM8, but I am such a noob when it comes to additive synthesis.
I made one that sounds kinda close if your interested in a tut. Soundcloud

Yes mate, envelope 1 is linked to both the osc 1 wavetable position and filter 1 cutoff And regarding the drawing the notes in or making them wobble that is entirely up to you, try them both I say. You will get different sounds from both, also try the performer in the lfo, that is quite good for these types of sounds.

Anyone have an idea on how to get that Sukh Knight signature bass sound? Strugglin for months on this, examples would be shankle, eat bullets, etc
Another is the bassline used for Silkie's New York City
cheers

Love that track. Never analyzed much of Silkie's sounds He uses some atmospheric sample in one of his songs that gets used in a Dodge and Fuski song recently, which makes me cuz I thought he designed it
Anyway it's detuned squares. Turn the attack up on the filter (low-pass) envelope and the amp envelope a little too. There's some other screamy type thing going on at the start of each bar, underneath the same bass processing -- possibly part of the patch, possibly another bass sound but either way you can hear it is under the filter. That could be handled a number of ways. But I don't feel like figuring out the closest one right now.
Also, it might be a bandpass filter instead of a lowpass filter, with resonance.
It has a very metallic tone to it which I'm not sure how to replicate precisely but the general idea is, square waves, detune, filter envelope.

I'm just looking for that high pitched kind of chirping sound that Doctor P uses a lot. Big Boss is a good example:
at about 0:31.

Would like to create a similar bass as Knife Party has created in Antidote. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance!

Massive -> Any oscillator -> any wavetable -> set "Spectrum" to "Formant" -> color to taste

It's hard for me to explain what the hell that sound is, but it's fucking badass. It's that crazy stuff high up in the frequency spectrum, I can't think of a word to describe it. Maybe someone can help me wrap my head around it. I'm using Ableton Suite, and have albino, absynth, gladiator, massive etc. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I still haven't came anywhere close with this one. =(

Dude just take any of the weird wavetables in massive and pitch them midrange, add a tremolo effect (lfo modulate volume, or if you use Ableton user the Auto-Pan tool set Phase to 0 degrees and Amount to maybe 80% and adjust the rate so it's on triplets -- 12th notes at 128bpm in this case, shape it to taste) and that's pretty much it, cut the sub obv

Actually, that thing sounds like either the note is barely delayed or the lfo speed is set to a rate instead of being perfectly tempo-synced. You can feel how it is late in the groove.

Do you mean the hoover sound?
In case you don't know i got this by using the search function:
a hoover is detuned square waves with a pitch envelope on goin bwwoooommm (up then down) A hover is a Square(actually pulse) wave ...

Anyone know how to create this type of lead/key?
it appears prominently at 0:57-0:58 and again at 1:07 - 1:09
it sounds like a vibrato/detune/glide type lead? maybe even some lfo action? im not entirely sure but it kind of reminds me of a videogame or something, it's amazing , but am having a HARD time creating it using massive or fm8, anyone nice enough to reply this time? :p

Hey DSF, hows it going. I have been trying to create a synth like this one here used in Distance's tune Meanstreak. Ive gotten pretty close to making this sound using saws and and chorus modulation... etc. I just can't seem to get the crunch/distortion and movement right. If anyone could help me crack this sound, that would be awesome!
The synth starts at 00:00

Since I am not the most musically inclined person I would like to know how I would go about best simulating that classic horror style string rising sound that gets used in a lot of movies and trailers nowadays. Here is an example of what I am talking about http://audiojungle.net/item/intense-str ... r-3/455295 <---- that one sounds really good. I am just not sure how to pull it off.
