Aliens isn't as good as Alien. Close but no.

On topic though I'm not sure I get these. Not analogue means they're still no closer to sounding like an 808 or 303 compared to loads already on the market but they also don't do anything that new.

Agreed. Alien is much better...its more of a horror film. Aliens is an action shoot em up ;p

As for the second part I quoted, this is the biggest short coming for me.

I still think Bassbum has it though...I dunno if itll be16 year old, American trap producers or what...but someone will be into these just because they are classic "rereleases" (a term which I use lightly).

It was nice to see they tried to include some the excentricities of the originals...

They got a bit crusher, bro.

Naw, I don't think we know what they are capable of. I mean, bottom line, put these in the hands of a talented producer, and the jams are going to flow. But... still, push and live? I don't know homie, just too early to tell. I can tell you I'd like to have em. I've got a lot of stuff on the list before this, based upon what I've seen, but still, I'd love to have these.

Aliens... I don't know, different flavor, maybe I prefer? Just for Bill Paxton? Maybe there is a metaphor at work here?

Ok. plus one point for Bill Paxton. Wasnt one of the marines, the one that gets all buddy-buddy with Weaver, also the male protagonist from Terminator one?

Conspriacy.

Are there ppl that are going to the Brighton Music Conference? Those new 808 b2b 909 and 303 will there, so you can try it out. The prices for the TR-8 are $499, what is in my eyes not that expensive.

I am not a huge analog fan, but if you're gonna release a new 808, why make it essentially a hardware digital VST clone of the 808/909? At least then turn it into a fully capable digital drum sampler with 808 and 909s emulations added to them. Then I see the point. With what we have now, it just feels like it's trying to do 2 things, neither of which very well.

You can deff get some nice jams out of it, but it just doesn't feel like a complete product to me.

Micheal Beihn. Cameron directed both, , he liked to reuse actors. He was in Abyss as well iirc.

Also I've always considered Aliens to be Vietnam in space.

Oh shit. You are right. I didnt think about that. I like that Michael Beihn guy. And yes...Aliens is a a Vietnam in space. I find most of the Alien series pretty entertaining. That one when the bring Ripley back as a clone is pretty lame though.

Alien Resurrection is fucking awful.
Alien 3 has a hell of a lot wrong with it too. Probably due to the production hell that went through before it got made.

Directors cut of Alien 3 makes a lot more sense. Agree on Resurrection though, such a waste film.

It helps a bit but still doesn't make it that great. It's also technically not a director's cut. Fincher was the only director of any of the films to refuse to be involved in any of the later releases of the films after the theatrical release

Yeah I dont get that. The thing that really gets me is the TB3 apparently has a snyth engine. I would have expected it to just have a bunch of multi samples because it could have been more easily built that way.

If you going to bother putting a snyth engine inside it why not give the use control over it.

Dudes, I know some people, and my evaluation unit (was supposed to get three of the four, but only got one) arrived from Roland like 2 hours ago.

Apparently it just arrive from a time portal stretching back to '99.

They did so little with the TR-8.

Of course, you can still make sick beats with it, I'm sure, but they really did so little.

I'm sort of considering buying a TR-8. I looks like it would be fun. This is the first time in years that I've even considered buying a new piece of electronic gear. Also kind of eying MS-20 reissue, maybe I should just go for that. A good drum machine would inspire me though. I do have an ER-1 ^^ but those snares never inspired me, it's good for some blipity bloops otherwise.

I'd wait to see what the new Electribe sampler will be like--it has the synthesis engine (just less filter options) that the EMX2 has plus sampling. The TR-8 seems cool...but still a bit pricy IMO. Also the new sounds sets seem kinda expensive. Hoping the new Electribe Sampler will have enough of a synth engine to make perc sounds all on the machine.
