Top sound engineers make good money too. My missus is a post production producer for ads and films, a lot of engineers get like 100k a year +an hourly rate when working on a job :-/

Also one of them is a composer so if he composes music for a job he gets his wage+hourly rate+rights to the music (can be 3-10k)

I'm on 15K, it's not nearly enough for what I do but I also feel like because it is the NHS, I do not mind as much. At least I'm not directly lining some greedy fucker's pocket.

Pete's post was full of great wisdom, salary transparency is very important to a fully functioning capatalist society but as he says, it being a faux pas is a construct of the employer that does not serve the employee positively.
Unfortunately, pointing this sort of thing out to people brands you as weird or arrogant or something else, probably another construct. Maybe everything is just big fucking nasty construct. I swear as I get older I am starting to feel that way. Ho hum

FYI 15K is not a comfortable living wage. Not even in the North East with lower renting prices.

I'm a student and work two night shifts every week at an refugee centre (or whatever you guys call them). I currently make £12k, but switzerland is fucking expensive (except tuition fees, thankfully).

military service is compulsory, and the army pays mad amounts of money. I went for CO (currently Lt). after my promotion, I made 20k in 5 months. went all down the drain though, I suck at making savings.
for those wondering; we have to attend for duty during for four weeks every year ("repetition courses") until you're thirty or until you've reached a certain number of service days (soldiers 300 - sergeants 450 - lieutenants 600).

The most I have ever made was $11.60 an hr.

Not including the time I had a stock option...

But even that just mean't I worked for 3 years...
