What is the big deal with saying 'black people' though? People seem to be offended by that
as well, which I think is offensive to black people. Seems to be mostly white people from English speaking countries that take offense.
It carries some kind of load that it really shouldn't.

Oh yeah maybe it was a phase. Something in the media I guess.
Part of my latest essay is about the civil rights movement though and I went with African Americans
to be on the safe side. Maybe in 10 years I can safely drop n's all throughout.

Works fine until they're not Americans. Then you've got the whole ensuing Black with a Capital B Vs black with a small b debate.
As and when it makes sense to mention someone's race (i.e. When pointing someone out in a crowd or describing them to someone and.... well, that's probably about it), Black seems perfectly appropriate. I mean, black people aren't black, but white people aren't white either.
The main thing people really need to step away from are phrases like "acting black" which is the point where prejudice starts to come into play. Memes that tie
behaviour to skin colour are NEVER going to be harmless to society.

It works both ways
taboos need to be checked and they get to by being exposed even in silly memes
they need to live if they are to die

Kinda funny how you will always hear "yeah it was this hench black guy" and "yeah just some skinny little white kid" and never vice versa

Yeah, but I've never really worked out why since it was generally the racists who went around looking like ghosts in white sheets...
