I am soooo excited about it, its on. Its not in Shoreditch this time, sorry - you lot were spoiled last time, empty buildings in Shoreditch are a rare find - but it is suuuuuch a better building, a really beautiful spot that its going to be worth the tiny bit of travelling that you have to do. Its seriously got one of the best views of the city that I've seen!!! All skyline and river and niceness... its going to be absolute madness to see these DJs at this place!!!
SO PUMPED ABOUT IT! SQUAT PARTIES ARE THE BEST!!!!! its the best feeling to be able to see these cool buildings you'd never ever see otherwise...
yaaaayayaya so vaguely speaking, its a tiny bit south and a tiny bit east - south east central?! - 10 minutes walk from a tube station so the transport is easy enough... oh man anyone who makes it out is going to love it. so good. depending on the weather it might be a bit cold inside tho, so bring a sweater. but once the warmth of that bass hits ya...

bruuuuuuuv this sounds SICK!! its bring your own booze yeah?? cos last one of this i thought it was but then they took my beers off me at the door and charged me inside! also how much is it again??

that wasn't our party. we would never have taken your booze off you, no squat party would have done that because squat party soundsystems are not in it to make money off the people who attend - in fact, thats the whole point of doing squat parties! escaping dickhead clubs who just want to make cash off the people who come to their establishments, and instead creating a space where people come together to make and enforce their own rules, and decide their own kind of fun. thats what makes them so exciting and different - i know people felt it at the last one, and this one is going to be even more of that! its addicting to feel like you get to make your own fun and no one who is looking to make money from you is making decisions about what kind of fun that is, based on how it eats into their profit. i hope this is reflected throughout the party - in the lineup we chose, the people we have involved and the venue we're using.
thats why we call it a free party - as in freedom! ...but not free cash, it does cost a fiver to cover costs, theres no other way to do it, these things take money so you all chip in and absolutely no one makes a profit.
you are probably talking about the lord napier venue in hackney wick - thats definitely NOT a squat. no offense to promoters who use that venue but we aren't a big fan of it... its just any guy making money for himself off promoting his club as a fake 'squat' using a squat chic aesthetic, and experiences like yours are the classic result.
however if you forget or elect not to bring booze, i'm sure *someone* at the party with a rather large, bar-sized stash would be willing to share theirs for reimbursement... wink wink...

ah no i never meant your party! nah any abacus ones i've been to have been great, it was that one in hackney and i have since realised like you say that its not a proper squat party...
yeah i love the idea of the squat party scene cos of waht you say, i'm sick of people just concentrating on decor and nice drinks and then having a pap sound system etc. its great cos these ones are just about the music innit
anyway look forward to a great night and good times, i'll keep an eye out for you on the night and come intoroduce myself, safe

hey-
just wanted to round on some points floating around the thread about this upcoming party. Its a free [libre] party. This is the product of people wanting to party but finding space to do so has been polarized. So we have hijacked some space - a temporary autonomous zone to quote Hakim Bey.
This space exists because we party people want it so. Likewise the sound system exists because peoples door contributions have made it happen. Artists on the line-up play for the party not a fee. Nobody is providing a service - we are all in it together.
You do not get stopped at the door for your beer to be confiscated. This is not an unlicensed nightclub venue. Its your party so you can bring what you want.

are you going to be selling those luvvly jubbly strong cans of cider like last time??
in fact booze hasnt even been mentioned. there is booze right?
The authorities periodically come down hard on free parties. We don't give them ammunition...
Most importantly these parties succeed through the practice of collective security. Namely we all look out for each other. And bring a torch!

defo want to get down for this some mates went to the last one and said it was sick and i have been hating paying too much for drink at venues and not being able to bun while listening to the tracks inside.
only problem is synthetic circus is the day after so an earlyish one is needed to maintain the strength.
anyone else going synthetic on the saturday BTW?

we never said it was a squat party at all let alone a 'proper' one.
and that place is ok, but yes, the guy who runs it is an absolute cock who deserves a beating.
roll on this friday... i hope (going by the vague location description) thats it is in Bermondsey, there are some sick buildings around there.
