this is true. in every interview i've seen of him, he's always talking about new new new. fairplay to him. the bottom line is he looked a bit soft standing next to "the" daddy randall.
some friends of mine manage him in the UK...he's big into making film music in Hollywood...so u can understand his predicament...out of all the dnb artist he's the most succesful in branching out and going into other things.
yeah how can u even compete with randall? no chance.

For that Photek gets nil pois. What a joker - he's just pissed on his own fire. And what predicament? He was chosen to rinse out an old skool set and unless his records got jacked or ended up in Shannon or burnt in a house fire there's no excuse! I reckon he's sold em all on Ebay or summit.

And ok, his prime period wasn't old skool '94 like some of the others, but I wanted to hear those '95-'98 ni ten ichi ryu style classics from him man!

It's tough though. MA had a hard task if you ask me. First, there's the whole soap opera about what's "old school jungle " and what's not. the first few aphrodite, dillinja, rider, fabio, trace, frost, ibiza, reinforced and moving shadow releases start around 1990-91.
then you have to decide how you handle metalheadz and their influence on the whole thing. metalheadz 001 is 1994. depending on how old you are, you might say metalheadz is the start of it. hard job, but i think mary chose correctly.

At least Bailey did that mix recently with all classic Photek tunes. That is sort of a compromise.
