I've downloaded various Funky shows from the Rinse FM podcast and I like some of the tunes but not all of them. There's some that really sound different and I guess that is "Funky". But there's also a lot of tunes that just sound like ordinary House. I guess that's because they're playing "House and Funky." Does anyone know of any of the rinse podcasts I could download that are purely Funky or at least a portion of the the show, like the second hour, is purely Funky?
Thanks

a lot of the vocals they use completely ruin the track, and often the drums sound a bit weak (which i thought was a problem on the supa d rinse comp), but there are a lot of ace tracks. i could see it mixing well with something like this.

Yellowtail is a ridiculously deep track, Geeneus taking his productions to a next place altogether. those organs :s

new Footloose show is heavy... http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/footloose/
will this be uploaded anywhere as an mp3?

it's quite good

I love vocals, me. That Kele Le Roc track on the 1Xtra mix is SAUCE.

Mind you, Kele Le Roc is SAUCE generally.

There's some interesting discussion of 'funky' going on here http://arts.hurryupharry.org/2008/07/27 ... /#comments

It's an arts blog I write for, with a general audience, not a specialist dance crowd, so I kept the initial post quite vague and not really topical beyond talking about the 1xtra show... it gets into a bit more detail in the discussion below, including a shout to the Bribkin :) Feel free to weigh in!
