To be very honest, the concept interests me a lot, Ruckspin and talented people envolved says enough for me, so yes PM is following Ruckspin. The responses doesn't interest me much, so I've one read the opening post and the last post.
And for some reason I can't see the You Tube things posted on here. But yeah PM will follow Ruckspin. BIG up, really very interesting !

Really awesome vibes with these tunes! Biggups...I'm lovin it ^_^
The musical spectrum is pretty varied and even within genres like dubstep there are acts that adhere to the basic formula of the genre but then add a whole new dimension to things. The latest act to fully blur the lines between what is dubstep and what is soulful band music are a little outfit from Leeds called Submotion Orchestra. If you like half-step drum patterns, wobbly dub bass and haunting female vocals, you are going to love these guys.
Most of the bands material is written by two people in the band, drummer Tommy Evans - who is also in Gentlemen's Dub Club, who are also well worth checking out - and Dom Howard aka dubstep producer DJ Ruckspin. The element you will come to love more than any other though is female vocalist Ruby Wood. Her soft and warm vocals soar over these tracks like a siren calling ships to the rocks in a storm. So rich in soul, effortlessley deep, beautifully textured and able to make you melt in a second. I've only listened to their promo EP a few times and already I think I'm in love with this woman's voice.
The instrumentation underpinning the beautiful vocals isn't to be ignored though. The clever blend of dub production techniques, halfstep beats, deep sub basslines and soulful strings and brass make this 'Finest Hour' EP something very special indeed. If you were to take away the vocals from the equation, you would soon notice the clever blend of live dubstep style drum work and soul instrumentation that really makes this group something special. Rich isn't even the word for what the Submotion Orchestra have got here - there isn't a descriptive enough word to describe how luscious this music is. This is definitely gonna be on my playlist for a while. If you've got any sense you will check them out straight away. I'm not gonna pick a favourite track or even try to describe individual elements to you, i'm just gonna tell you to go out right now and listen to them. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
It is worth mentioning that if you go to Leeds they play regularly at a place called Hukaz bar on Mondays. If I were going there anytime soon I would be in there for definite to hear just how this works live, for now though I will just have to settle for listening to this beautiful EP.
The 'Finest Hour' EP is scheduled for release on the 14th June, on Ranking Records and you should all be keeping your ears peeled for it. They've got an album coming out in September and if i get my way we'll be bringing you a review of that as well. I love this band already and I hope that they get the support and attention they deserve. Big up the Submotion Orchestra. You are amazing.
