We've had some interesting adventures the last couple days, probably could expand our party to hold a few more people if anyone wants to join.

Tonight was hands down the most fun I've ever had on DayZ. Been playing on a private Namalsk hive for a while and managed to get a couple of vehicles, including a UAZ. Never managed to get vehicles on Chernarus before so obviously I was pretty chuffed with my new toys. So anyway, tonight I leave the base and head over to Sebjan Dam to get some action...

After about five minutes I hear a vehicle, and lo and behold it's a UAZ coming from the general direction in which I left mine. Not willing to take chances, and up for a bit of a kick off, I run to the road south towards the crash site in order to try and cut them off. Before I can get there frantic gunshots begin ringing out across the hills so I drop into a crouch and get closer. It seems two gentlemen in a white pickup have ambushed the squad in the UAZ and so now there's seven of them, five from the UAZ and two from the pickup, in a desperate gunfight. I go prone and square them in the sights of my Mk 48. Two drop and the fight scatters as they run for cover in the trees. Yet more and more of them seem to be dying.

As it turned out, two other lone gunmen had been attracted by the shots and were now picking off the stragglers leaving all but one from the original gunfight dead resulting in a stand off between the four who remained over who was taking the vehicles.

After about two minutes someone makes a dash for the pickup, leaving a trail of dust in their wake. All eyes on the UAZ then. The tension gets to me and I make a run for it but take a shot in the side. Still standing but so stupid. I head back to the trees to lick my wounds.

Resolving to keep my red dot trained on the drivers door, no one was going to be taking this vehicle except me. But more and more players, attracted by the commotion on side chat, make attempts and all are gunned down by myself or the others. It starts to get hairy as the stand off drags on with more and more players making reckless sprints towards the UAZ. I decide to go for it. Noticing zombies near the tower, I infer that one of the snipers must be down there so I make a break across the road, hitting the drivers side for cover. I jump in and hit accelerate - screaming down the road, across the dam, and to safer ground. When I get back to base I notice that this isn't even my own UAZ: bonus. Now I've got two.

After the trouble at the Dam finally calms down (there was still blood to be spilt over who would loot the bodies of those we'd killed) there's silence on side chat again. Some time passes and I hear a rumble. One of the other snipers from the stand off finds my new UAZ and steals it.

I love DayZ.

heh man i've never played with you cosmic, you'd love some of our adventures when the dsf crew gets altogether on a server and skype at once (the non clusterfuck times with actual tactics).

I'd definitely be up for a bash with the DSF gang tbh. You play on a particular server or you just go public?

we tend to get together on skype and try to find a middleground server ping wise for all of us playing. i may pay for a private server in the near future for dsfers and some other buds, i like Namalsk that much.

Yeah Namalsk is beautiful. Restored my faith in the mod after my 35 day character died to a tree branch b2b respawn and getting teleported within 30 mins by a hacker. How often do you play?
