Showing that dumb premier league bias once again...
There's only Liechtsteiner and Zuniga in the serie A that have a similar level to what he's shown in Roma.

I don't know about Roma but his fitness was awful at City and before that at Milan

No, but they used his fitness as an excuse in city because of his wages and the importance of Zabaletas captainancy despite of his ability. It would have been a genuine scoop if they had got him on and with Mica in their fold it's kind of obvious that they just can't handle a back going forward and just prefer a fighter.
Maicons fitness was
never an issue at Inter where he took the spot from Javier Zanetti that arguably is the player with the least injure troubles out of everyone in the entire game.
He was a better player than people like Maldini, Zanetti and even Cafu, in his prime.
In my time it has only been Alves, Lahm, Salgado and Thuram you could argue where better on that position imo., and thats ofcourse why I write this long post because it's just absolutely absurd

Yeah havent watched him play for a few years but Maicon used to be>>>>>>>
I think ppl bigged up that game where Bale roasted him a few times too much and assumed he became some sort of cack-footed post-traumatic stress victim after.

Donovan is retiring after this year. Can't help but applaud everything he's done for US soccer all these years

Yeah, it's pretty embarrasing considering how they absolutely gubbed us. Rules are rules, but it's still damn harsh tbh

Yeah there's a few Celtic fans over here and they aren't thrilled by this glad to be in it but not at the way. The fact Debrecen only got a 15k fine for introducing an ineligible player in a similar situation in 2010 makes this weird.

Tommy V off to sunny Spain it would seem
to warm some benches

Altho tbf i'd play him & pique at CB + move masch back to CDM, altho idk what that Bartra guy is saying really over at Barca.

Shame to lose someone with his experience but £15m is a lot for a backup defender

sold song, hleb and tommy v for 44 million to barca in total.
or if you think about it in another way. we bought sanchez for 15-20 million plus vermaelen. great business lol.
saw this stat today as well
'In Wenger's first 18 years at Arsenal he spent £55.5m on transfers, Chelsea spent over £700m, City over £500m, United+Liverpool over £300m.'
If only any of that actually meant something
i hope big per is made captain. would be silly to make arteta captain considering its likely he wont be a first 11 player. but i think arteta will be made captain tbh

In retrospect for more than half of those 18 years you also watched your team win nothing.

great deal for Tommy V, he's put in a good few years but 15m + not selling in the prem is good. hope can get a good replacement.
AFC got a massive, money generating stadium in exchange for 9 years drought, whilst staying competitive/ in the champs league. ill take being financially secure/ self-sufficient and winning again for decades to come in exchange for that

FA Cup in 97 & 2000

not really sure where rockonin is going with that statement then
FA Premier League: 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04
FA Cup: 1997–98, 2001–02, 2002–03, 2004–05, 2013–14
FA Community Shield: 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004
compared to
FA Community Shield: 2000, 2005, 2009
Chelsea have won one more fa cup but spent 650 mill more.
but yeah as i said. not spending money isnt a trophy
(edit. forgot about the champions league. thats quite a big one really)
