3 i've seen recently
Watched this for the first time in years & it still isn't dated, great movie.
~3hr russian film based on Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers. Its good but it completely scraps the scifi element of the books and goes for the psychological breakdown angle instead requires lots of patience also.
Interesting doc on 80's biker gangs in tokyo

I need to re-watch Stalker. One of the finest films I've ever seen. My copy has it spread across 2 discs for some reason, breaks the illusion having to get up & change over halfway through. a minor quibble though.

Really liked Stalker, thought it was defo a bit hard to keep concentration but theres so many mesmerising shots in there if you can be bothered to keep with it. Didn't think it was pretentious either in it's handling of such philosophical material. Music's so good as well..all crazy proto-electronica probably made with humongous machines
I just checked Room 237
Really liked it..I'm not one for conspiracy theories or anything but I loved the way it was put together and how much people can get out of the Shining. Not as if it's all completely outlandish theories either..if you're a fan of the shining it's a must see...it made me go back and watch the film again and I did get more out of it. It was one of those films I'd thought was intense and had loads to it but found it equally frustrating and didn't add up as solely a horror film.

I once cried watching Bambi with a comedown, don't want to think about the state I'd be in after watching Requiem for a Dream!!
Human Traffics a good shout, cheers Kochari

Yeah I once got very emotional watching Dr Who on a comedown and had to call my girlfriend and ask her to come around and look after me!
Requiem for a dream is enough for me to feel like I'm having a comedown without even having one, I'd stay well away from anything like that or any horror or overly emotional things. Gotta reach for the happy comedies/animations, or a good wildlife series like life on earth.

I think we're going for The Mask, Human Traffic and a few episodes of Africa. Possibly white chicks and a few action films as well.

One of my favourite ever comedowns was spent watching a 1973 documentary about Indian railways.
(and having lots and lots of sex)
