The bit with the used tampon as well still makes me chuckle thinking about it

hmm, i suppose its a love it or hate it thing in the end. The best bit about it for me was the bit where it started exploring paedophilia (almost by accident). It's the first time I've seen a humorous, honest approach to middle aged men liking young girls/the terror of being seen to be a paedophile before on film, it would've been interesting if that'd been explored further for me but then maybe i'm just odd.

If it's raining and you live in the city, Bladerunner.
If it's not raining and/or you don't live in the city, Cuckoos Nest.

Thanks, Wub. I'll wait until it's raining for Bladerunner then, I'm not the biggest fan of Sci Fi really but so many ninjas have highly rated bladerunner that I though I'd give it a go.

Blade Runner is fantastic. You can really fall in love with that film.
Edit: Good thing you bought the director's cut btw. Ford's voice-over on the original was fucking dreadful. Apparently it was the first thing that Ridley scrapped when he started his cut.

The voice over was never supposed to be. But a test screening to the Ladd company and audiences revealed that a lot of people found the movie confusing. So Ladd ordered the voice over after the movie was made (so technically the first screenings were without the voice-over). Ford was brought in to read the lines while most of the directing staff wasn't even there any more. Ford opposed to the voice over and (this is still up for debate) delivered a poor performance some say deliberately (Ford was miserable off set the entire time - Scott ignored him and expected a lot of him because he was the most experienced, plus working with rookie Sean Young wasn't easy for him) and has stated multiple time that making this movie wasn't a pleasant experience, still I think it is his trademark performance).
All in all, the Directors Cut is the best version though. It adds a few crucial scenes. The 5 disc set is still the best quality for money though: it contains roughly 30 minutes of extra scenes and a lot more in the form of daillies on the Dangerous Days: Making of Blade Runner extra disc.

I've only ever seen the director's cut. I bought my Dad the 'Final Cut' for his birthday a few years ago so I should probably borrow it sometime. The Director's cut is phenomenal.
Re-watched 'Manhattan' this morning. Think I might actually prefer it to 'Annie Hall' these days.
He was given to fits of rage, Jewish liberal paranoia, male chauvinism, self-righteous misanthropy, and nihilistic moods of despair. He had complaints about life but never any solutions. He longed to be an artist but balked at the necessary sacrifices. In his most private moments, he spoke of his fear of death, which he elevated to tragic heights when in fact it was mere narcissism.

Holy motherfuck, I am talking about the final cut of course (which is in fact the directors cut as Scott wasn't involved in the directors cut).

Ché Part 1. Great film, didn't really know a great deal about the Cuban revolution or Ché but really enjoyed it. Took me about 4 hours to watch as I kept getting distracted. I'll watch part 2 tomorrow. Brought them on bluray about 2 years ago, finally getting round to watching them.

Office Space. Watched it about 5 times now, one of my favorite films.
'What would you do if you had a million dollars?'
'I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.'
'That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?'
'Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money.'
'Well, not all chicks.'
'the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.'
'Good point.'

The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
