Brilliant - really unique, touching and disturbing in all the right ways. Cillian Murphy's first film - he's excellent in it... as is the girl actually.

Not sure why I'd never got round to watching this. Very good indeed, but a definite streak of American Dream conservatism running through it. Taxes/Government are bad and working hard will get you everything you ever dreamed of. Very enjoyable story though... Gardner's a pretty inspirational chap, they did a good job.

Watched this again, found it be just alright, quite funny again. Not entirely sure what's so great about it?

Yes, very enjoyable film. Great story about how his life got flipped-turned upside down.

I lol'd.

Just watched the new Total Recall.

Beautiful set design but all-in-all was an absolutely gash film.
No mutants.
No Mars.
No aliens.
No "consider that a divorce"

WHACK! 3/10

Bringing Up Baby

I like Howard Hawks films so I thought i'd give this a go.
A zoologist (Grant) is trying to get funding for his museum from a rich woman. The rich woman's niece (Hepburn), a dog, two leopards and the zoologists own fassyholeness thwart his every attempt while 'hilarity' ensues.

Amusing enough, well delivered from all involved but painfully straight forward. 5/10
'His Girl Friday'>>>>>>>

Cult thing innit. Lots of people who wish/like to think they were like the people in the film.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I have never seen any of the Harry Potter movies, in fact, this was the first movie I saw Emma Watson in ever in my life. I figured if the movie sucked, I could still perhaps get a cheeky wank out of it.

However

1) The bitch can't act if her life depended on it apparently!
2) She didn't look great at all, in fact the fat chick with the Skrillex hair almost got a wank out of me. But then I realised I saw her as a child in Independence Day and I could nae be bothere.
3) Was this an accurate depiction of High School life in the United States? In any form or way? If so: no wonder people start shooting up the place. I was pretty stupid kid when I grew up in a pretty stupid school...but this? What the fuck! (No I don't watch many high school movies...)
4) So, In the end I didn't manage to finish it and watched The Great Silence again. Awesome movie!

Django Unchained

Worth the wait. Waltz was brilliant, soundtrack was on point. QT's cameo was jokes.

Having watched (and enjoyed) Django it reminded me that it was about time I watched 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' again.....quality film that definitely inspired Tarantino. Need to be in the right mood for it though because it's about 3hrs long and quite slow in places.

I need to watch For a Few Dollars More. Actually, I never used to like Westerns so have quite a bit of catching up to do, need to see Unforgiven and Once Upon a Time in the West.

True Grit (new version) is decent, so is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Magnificent Seven.

......and of course Blazing Saddles :W:

Generally speaking i'm not a fan of Westerns - there's maybe 10 or 15 that I like, 5ish that I think are very good.
I didn't like A Fistful of Dollars because it's Yojimbo but not as good. Same with The Magnificent Seven - Seven Samurai is soooo much better.

imo For a Few Dollars More is a GOOD film (one of my 5ish) , western or otherwise.
