Just built this desk. It feels so good having the turn tables at a good height.
Next on the to-do list is get some monitors in there and get rid of the hifi on the desk for a bit more space.

Monitors are probably too low, unless you're a Gnome. The tweeters should be ideally level with your ears. Plus your monitoring isn't going to be very good if your laptop is in front of your monitor whilst you produce?

Yeah i know, i'm in the process of saving for monitors and a stand so they should sit neatly at ear level, then i'll be able to get the computer into the middle of the desk too.

Macs are magnetically shielded are they not?

I was actually trying to show off my desk building skills but no-one cares

:) Was just suggesting that there could be other ways you could sort it temporarily which will greatly improve your mixing environment... If you've got some polystyrene blocks or something similar you could put the speakers on top of them? Then you could maybe build a bottom shelf under your current desk to put your midi keyboard on?

Haha shit yeh I did sort of ignore that part... Was too distracted :P Looking good man! I wish I was good with woodwork, or had time to practice!
