Arsenal were supposed to have £100m to spend, have spent £30m net, and only have 6 defenders and 2 strikers on their first-team books. Now Wenger is managing a charity match in Rome on deadline day.

Arsenal have played appalling football, have had poor results, and every man and his dog knows the areas that need improving, yet we have seen nothing. Arsene has brought us through tough times, but now we are "through that period" he needs to start showing ambition again or leave.

Arsenal fans will not continue to pay the most expensive tickets in the league for a club aspiring for fourth place and the occasional domestic trophy.
Seems a reasonable statement.

I'm juggling between this, fail videos, and downloading last season of Big Bang Theory.

Welbeck is a player Ferguson had the wits and concept to utilize properly. But it wont make sence in this context at all and he would be lucky if any top 10 clubs in prl would go for him imo.

Looks like Southhampton is getting Alderweireld who is a pretty decent defender

Yeah, hopefully we can get Virgil van Dijk as well.

Although I'm not sure how Celtic have become our feeder club

I'm starting to think it's time to put Wenger in a home. He seems to have lost any motivation he had to take the club forward

People have been calling for Wenger to leave for 6 years now, I've never said a word. I''m struggling to see what he brings to the club as a manager any more though.

Burnley have a better strike force than us..

No that's not it. Plenty of great teams work without a designated striker.
It's the playing style that is specifically wrong especially when considering the wealth of almost top top level players on the team.

The solution could be to forget about even using a targetman and instead aspire to play in a waý that is similar to (just as examples): chile, barcelona, swansea, udinese, roma, fiorentina, even bayern and so on...
It's not like they lack players that understand shortpassing and putting pressure on the last third of the pitch either.

It seems that Wenger is still chasing a winger that automatically becomes a forward, like Henry did (possibly by himself).

This has been a bit of a slow day TBH, if these are the 'headlines'
  • Manchester United agree a loan deal for Radamel Falcao
  • Javier Hernandez joins Real Madrid on loan
  • Crystal Palace line up £5m James McArthur
  • Burnley sign Chalobah
  • Micah Richards is close to a move to Fiorentina

Micah to Fiorentina probably means that Cuadrado is transfering somewhere

(united)

No domino effect like in previous years though...like when Torres went through and all hell broke lose a couple years back.

FFP starting to take effect maybe? Sounds like City were offered Falcao but they couldn't afford him

It does seem like the wc meant that a lot of deals where done a little quicker than usually. Either because you just had to get a certain player based on his wc performance right after or like in someone like david luiz' case that he probably wanted to be sure of where he was playing afterwards so he could focus on the wc
( )..

or maybe it was actually just because chelsea got a fantazilion out of that deal ...but still a factor im sure

Yeah, could be why Chelsea off-loaded Torres. £9m a year in salary taken care of (or whatever he was on)
