lol, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when watching season of the witch. I'd recommend people to watch Black Death (2010) in stead. Roughly the same movie but with better acting and Sean Bean instead of the Cage. For a low budget flick, that actually delivers what it promises...

I just watched the 2012 live action remake of the Rurouni Kenshin manga/anime/movies.

I actually found it a pretty good take. Yes it's not nearly as good as the OVA's (that part of the story is mostly omitted from the movie) but I think it was a commendable effort for a mainstream audience remake.

It featured 'bad guys' from all of the arks (Kanryuu, Udo Jin-E etc. from the first arc of the manga; Banjin Inui & Gein from the final arc, and all of the good guys from the arcs). They didn't get to the Shishio arc but that makes sense: would need several movies. Also they only took a few characters from the final Eniji arc (an interesting arc somewhat forgotten by most after the intense Shishio arc). It featured the Gatling gun from the Requiem for the Ishin Patriots movie (the series worst moment).

In general, there is something for every fan to enjoy. It's a bit superficial if you haven't read the manga or seen the OVA's or television series. But generally a good effort and a recommendation for fans.

It was shit fun until the climax when the witch turned out to be a CG Demon.

Had a choice of Love and Other drugs, Harry Brown, Coming to America and Hot Fuzz on TV last night. We ended up watching Coming to America which was brilliant, can't believe I hadn't seen it before!

I don't think I could bring myself to watch a live action of Kenshin, especially with how low budget they tend to be.

watched movie 43, was pretty good if you're up at 1 am and want a laugh.

I think this movie is pretty high budget mate. It looked pretty good (yes the usual CGI masturbation typical of Asian film...but other than that.)

Apcolypse Now Redux: I've been wanting to see it sense I played Spec Ops The Line and found out that the storyline was based off 'Heart of Darkness'. It was good, but not as great as a lot of people say, a lot of it seemed a bit cheesy to me. The end of the movie I liked a lot, but I wished it went on a bit longer. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

Apocalypse Now is probably my favourite film of all time. I don't care if it's an obvious choice. It is a masterpiece of cinema and it's worth every single bit of hype it gets.

That's arguably one of the most memorable scenes in the history of cinema. It's up there with Janet Leigh getting shanked in the shower, "Here's Johnny", "You talking to me", "Luke, I am your father", "Say hello to my little friend" and "I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Apocalypse Now is far & away my favourite film. Incredible piece of work. Struggle to see which part, if any, is cheesy. Filmmaking at its finest.
