No your problem is saying something so outragiously wrong it gets silly.

Like the critique is so unfounded that I can't comprehend you even responding with it.

It's not a question of taste, it's like you said Downton Abbey was too violent.

With the expectation of his stand-up comedy performances, there's nothing more what the series offers. Yeah, it's funny to see the source of a joke and it's sad to see how fucked his life is, but those things aren't making the series better. It's like there isn't even a script because it's chaotic as fuck and there's no way to connect the dots. And don't come up with the argument that it was intentional to make it a big joke, 'cause that only proves the useless of this series. I'm rather buying a dvd of his stand-up comedy performances than watching to this crap.

I'm not disputing you thinking it is dull, because that is fair and that is just a matter of taste or maturity?.

It's like there isn't even a script because it's chaotic as fuck and there's no way to connect the dots.
That's not an objective truth, that is just your ability to comprehend what is going on. The fact that he writes, directs and stars should give you an idea on how much he actually is in control of it all. Im sure he will become a genuine film director one day because that side comes as naturally to him as his standup does. The show is more like a few short films than anything else.

Just finished watching through this for the 2nd time.

Amazing.
Just signed back up for Netflix after a two year hiatus, first thing I did was look up this show. Currently watching the first episode and I will admit it is a bit slow, but I can tell it is building to something. Also I will second that his sister is very easy on the eyes, reminds me a bit of AJ(wrestling ninjas get that).

Also, someone give me a reason why I shouldn't watch House of Cards.

There are none.

I watched the first Game of Thrones yesterday. Not convinced... gonna stick with it for a couple of episodes. I love a bit of sword-swinging medieval diplomacy, but fuck wizards and dragons and shit.

It's a show about politics where the political side is turned down, and instead you have Spacey as this horrible omnipotent entity that breaks the fourth dimension speaking in an unbelievable extra southern accent, which some how is supposed to appeal as either pleasantly authoritative or entertaining because it's power and 'politics' yeaaah.
To further set up how cynical and charmingly immorale (?) his character is meant to be, he's bascily married to a silly real world version of Cruella de Vil.
And when they fuck on the show it's always the ridiculous revengeful fight scene type shit.

TBH, dragons and magic aren't really big parts of the show at all, it's more about the characters and the political intrigue (and the occasional beheading).

imo it's not the "greatest show ever" but it's incredibly solid and bleak as fuck at times

It's not lord of the rings, there's far more killing and shagging than magic

You need to give the best character (dwarf) a chance to get going

First episode had references to some sort of mythical wolves and fucking dragons eggs. It's going to need to do more to convince me it's not just prime-time porn for teens that haven't outgrown Warhammer yet.

I think it's not the series for you :cornlol:

I have to admit it would be better without the dragons but they were in the books

Can't stand GoT. I hate how people try to convince you with the fact that it has nudity and dragons..
Yeah it also has that creepy gay kid from Harry Potter.

Last few episodes of Breaking Bad left. Think I'll go with The Wire or Rectify now.

Ok, I have to admit, GoT is compelling TV after watching 5 episodes... I'm just hoping they keep enough of the fantasy shit in their pants as things rumble on. This whole "winter is coming" thing makes it sound like things could go downhill fast, but for the moment it's a really rather excellent mash up of British medieval/dark ages mythology with a healthy serving of the Wars of the Roses. The confused legends of ancient dragons, everyone having their own theories is actually really smartly done and feels pretty authentic, but I have a nasty feeling their going to ruin it by showing an actual dragon at some point.

Joffrey is excellent.
