It worked for Daft Punk and all of French House for years ;p I'll report back for sure! For fifty out the door I thought it was worth a chance. People still buy 'em...so if I don't like it I'll slap it back up on eBay/Craigslist

That is also the thing with this older gear, once the price has stabilized you can buy it and sell it back for what you bought it for. No loss other than your time.

Also it makes my rack look sexier.

I just rebuilt my desk to give three columns of 5ru, and already, I may be maxed, or close to it. :(

I don't know how you got a camera in there, but that was a private moment.

Yea...I keep thinking about a pre VLZ Mackie 1604...then all my rack space would be gone again. I just love the vibe of all that DnB mixed on those Mackie desks...

@Nowaysj: Your helmet needs more tin foil. The government can still hear your thoughts.

I live under a mountain, inside of a faraday cage. They cannot hear my thoughts, nor can they reach me with their pathetic little jdams.

The truly frightening part is that I actually know what a faraday cage is... :Q: big up conspiracy theory massive

Picked up a BCR2000 today. Finally. Should have done this years ago. F'ing $150 new... ridiculously cheap.

Oh shit, that's tight. Didn't know. For $150 that might be a better deal than a $100 Beat Step...

Naw, though, my plan is to get one to one with a vst. If it works out, I might get more of these. At $150, they're pretty cheap, and it turns your quality vst synths into real touchable synths!

0000

ALSO gassing pretty bad for a volca keys... $125 shipped... hard to beat for an analog poly with a sequencer... haha. This world has gone crazy.

Anybody wanna talk me out of it?

Only thing that is stopping me is Namm... who knows what will be introduced, and what effect that'll have on the used Volca market...

I got my Volca Keys for 110 shipped and I'm still pretty MEH on it. I use it. Sounds like ass dry. Really limited timbre palette on its own. Also, its paraphonic. Some chords don't sound good/correct on it to my ear. Save your 125 and get a MicroBrute. Or a BassStation II. I've seen those go for ~350. Remember MicroBrute does have a sequencer. Also you can process external audio through the Brute.

POLY WANT A POLY

Image

Honestly, listening to demos with no further processing, it sounds good to me. Not like soooper lush classic analog poly, but alive and weird.

I like having the sequencer on the synth, and I like being able to record knob movements. The studio/live setup that I'm doing, each instrument you know, doesn't have to be star player. Everybody just has to play their part.

I'll tell you what - ( ) you don't like your keys... you bought it for $110, sell to me for $100 shipped, you have $10 loss on something you say sounds like ass.

Fair play on the star player analogy. I guess I just don't get along with it. And if I'm honest, I have to say I'm basically just using it as a synth voice--sequencing from elsewhere, not recording automation etc.

I may take you up on that offer though--I've even got a power cord for it. How long would that offer be good for on your part? I think I at least owe it the sequencer and motion recoding some love before I ditch it...

My god...I may have become a synth snob...EDIT: I did say it sounded like ass. Wow. I'm a grumpster today on the Volca.

Offer is open for a little while. I'm gassing hard. Might pick up a korg poly 800, though I really REALLY want the 61. But in the last year prices have gone a bit crazy on them. Was like a $200 synth now a $500 synth. WTF!

Right on. I'll drop you a PM within a weeks time if I think I want to part with it.

Do you know anything about the Korg EX-800 desktop units? I've seen them go under 400usd. I don't have room for keyboards...but I'm pretty sure its a Poly 800 in a desktop module.

I know of it, but I'm personally anti desktop. I've got a virus b desktop, and I regret not buying the keys.

No more rack/desk synths for me. I like having the dedicated keys. Instant contact you know?
