Thanks for explaining that to me.
I can totally understand what people are getting at.
90% of the people that are associated or produce bro step are dicks.
There's so many "not enough drop on this song" or "needs more compression" when they don't know what compression is even doing, and then there's the super stnuc "how do I make a skrillex growl sound?" "To get a dubstep wobble, use modern talking and put a sine lfo on the cutoff". Everyone is literally like "sick tune bro, check out mine". And there is a hell of a lot of sound swapping using massive patches. I totally understand the dislike and lack of interest for it in that sense, but at the same time, I thought people would appreciate the technical skills and originality of some of the more mainstream artists, like 501, feed me, koan sound. I imagine there's a lot of secret bro step fans on here too haha. I've been to see skream a couple of times and benga, and I really enjoyed it in a club environment, I just couldn't listen to it day to day. Hopefully now I'm on here ill start getting into it more and enjoying it. But yeah, thanks for actually answering nicely, I was expecting some sly sarcastic comments.

well you started off on a good note by asking politely

In my eyes its less about the actual music, and more about the culture around it. just think about the people who listen to BROstep...the term started out as a derogatory term that was embraced by those who push that sound.

Always liked the rusko babylon thing and the whole dark robot reese driven datsik / downlink / excision sound. not a fan of the retarded supersaws, cheesy melodies, female vocals and stuff like that.

You won't find a lot of hate for KOAN Sound or Feed Me here, even people who don't like their music tend to acknowledge that they're quality producers.

Chasing Shadows' Hench releases? Reso's heavier stuff? 16BIT tracks like Dinosaurs and Surge Remix? Unless you want to argue that they're tearout you should probably reconsider that assessment...

Okay so I listened to those artists just now with my monitoring headphones (laptops obviously wont cut it) and I`ve know about them since I`ve been listening to dubstep for over 6 years or whatever it is now, I just didn`t know they`ve now been termed `brostep` now  To me, it sounds a lot like breakstep - very heavy, even pounding, bass and crazy rythms.

To me, bropstep is the shitty repetitve grinding wobble tracks that everyone says `OMG IT`Z SO FILFEE` when they hear it

Thanks for pointing it out ;-)

Yeah, I guess. Tbh I find it more annoying for some reason. Maybe because I actually have to go out of my way to hear some bro.

House can never be as offensive to my ears as bro, that trolley snatcha/skrillex/whoever piercing high pitched sound actually upsets me, cant see the appeal at all, i can see the appeal in cheesy poppy house
