You could hardly write a better recommendation for me, on it. Also, while le samourai is obviously his masterpiece, the rest of jean-pierre melville's work is also very good. Probably my favorite 'classic' director.

Wreck-It Ralph
Good fun as a Disney film should be, shit ton of video game references which are pretty jokes if you try and spot them (Leeroy Jenkins references, Tomb Raider jokes, "Sheng Long Was Here" graffiti, the Konami code being used to open security doors etc). Nothing too serious and an obvious outcome for the plot, but worth a watch if you like the silly stuff.

Just saw Man Of Steel with my dad. Was fair. I had pretty low expectations going in, so it was nice that it didnt suck. Great action scenes, good enough acting, but a bit lengthy and kinda thin story. Not in any rush to see it again, but definitely a theater movie.

Has anyone heard of Dreams of a life??
It's about a woman who lay dead in hwer apartment for 3 years without anyone noticing.
Interesting piece written by the director here (it's a bit long)

Going to give it a watch this week I think.

The Distinguished Gentleman
Not as good as Trading Places/Coming To America, but still a decent watch if you're a fan of Eddie Murphy screwball comedies. Pacing is a bit off at times, jokes are decent enough.

Seen 10... Don't know about Antichrist though, it was violent and unsettling at times but it's mostly self-centered Von Trier trying to put as much black thoughts in a movie as he could after getting out of the loony bin. The scenes that got me the most was the one with the deer because you go from beauty to horror in half a second... The whole sexual violence and half-assed symbolism didn't really do it for me. (for the record I love Von Trier, Dancer in the Dark and Europa are at the top of the dvd shelf)
Should've been replaced with 'Detachment'.

I went to an advanced [free] screening of White House Down and surprisingly, it exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed it. I forgot to eat my snacks, that's how engrossed I was on the film. I don't really know why, maybe because I thought it was going to be cheesy/shit? I wasn't excited about it, didn't even see the trailer, didn't even know who's in it/what it's all about til I got my passes. I'd give it a 9/10. Yes, I know, that's high! I really did enjoy it. I also saw Superman, but that I give a 6/10.

Wow... such a great film.
Takashi Miike has to be one of the best directors in the world.

Spoiler Alert
World War $ was suspenseful
but pretty dumb re devoted family guy jetting around the world
to talk to people he could have rung up
with a chick who isn't fazed by his loping off her hand
when all he needed to do is hang out in a hospital
& contract mumps to avoid the undead party scene.

Watched Life of Pi the other night.
It wasnt as good as the book (shock horror) but it was still really good.
They did add in a random pointless lover angle and took out one of the best parts (boot eating bit to anyone thats read it) but otherwise it was a good use of 2 hours and not as butched as I expected it.

watched Crash last night
was pretty good, enjoyed it.
I don't know much about film tho so i might be wrong, but i think it was spose to be about racial profiling and how people get the wrong idea
thought it was a bit over the top from a racism point of view, like the stereotypes were so strong - bit more subtle so you had to think a bit more and it could of been a better film.

Each to their own and all that but if you enjoy watching these type of films there is probably something wrong with you imo.
