The plot follows an ailing theatre director (Hoffman) who stages an increasingly elaborate production that blurs boundaries between fiction and fact as he watches his life tearing apart
Hits the spot... I loved it
everybody needs to watch everything charlie kaufman is involved with writing. this is his directorial debut, but he also wrote being john malkovich, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, confessions of a dangerous mind, human nature, and adaptation.

^I've seen half of those and they were all great, didnt know they were all by the same guy. Adaptation is a must purely for the fact that its the only movie with 2 Nic Cages :corndance:

he writes himself into every script (except confessions which is a biography), which makes adaptation especially hilariously meta, but it's also great to see how each actor interprets the role. much like how lead roles in woody allen movies are different versions of woody, regardless of the actor.

Kaufman's excellent; I think of all his films Adaptation is probably my favourite, they're all great though.

Hope Leaves The Theatre is also very good.

As for films I've seen recently...

I'm lazy and don't feel like scrolling through this thread;

You guys got any comedy films you seen recently that are actually funny and had you laughing for more than half the film?

Yeah, it's meant to be phenomenal. I stumbled across the trailer late last year and I've wanted to see it ever since, hopefully it sees a dvd release.
