I kind of agree with the sentiment and appreciate it comming from you because it's socially sound ... but the crux is that decision tbh - to get the level from europe and I'm sorry but it's just what it takes.
And in that sence the bit with the youth department is the main fight - that he won. Which will have an effect for years. It's the same deal with the belgium talents as an example.

And it was the same situation back when Ballack played and Klinsmann was the one who saw that structure of having to use bundesliga players mainly, had to change.

The really 'discouraging' bit for everyone that isn't german is that the Kroos, Lahm, Neuer, Gøtze, Reus - generation isn't even the strongest one :o - but the next one with Kramer, Leno, Clemens, Meyer... etc :D

I understand that the MLS will never be on par with the major European leagues. But when the USMNT coach is actively picking players of lesser ability just because they play overseas, its detrimental to the domestic league and will have an effect on the quality of players the US puts out. However, even if half our u23 prospects pan out like they're predicted to, 2018 is going to be the year the US makes a statement.

players of lesser ability

Aha!, I must've have misread that previously...
still (and not that i'm not taking your word for it)
but I'd assume/ believe he would only do that, to have those non domestic players influence the team in a way that he thought was necessary.
It might be in a cultural sence or the depth of play.

But it could be a way to argue his position ofcourse and fuck that...

Anderlecht did quite good, especially considering such a young team almost all season (= some will leave :( ) makes me kind of sad we lost in such a fashion to Arsenal, could've gotten more but Eu League is about our level atm.

Demarai Gray is so sick, and I'm so sad he'll no doubt end up at some turd Prem club for about half a mill in two weeks time.

Spector gets a bit of playing time. Packwood was loaned out, but just came back because if injury. I think he'll develop into a starter for us soon.
