The really 'discouraging' bit for everyone that isn't german is that the Kroos, Lahm, Neuer, Gøtze, Reus - generation isn't even the strongest one - but the next one with Kramer, Leno, Clemens, Meyer... etc

I understand that the MLS will never be on par with the major European leagues. But when the USMNT coach is actively picking players of lesser ability just because they play overseas, its detrimental to the domestic league and will have an effect on the quality of players the US puts out. However, even if half our u23 prospects pan out like they're predicted to, 2018 is going to be the year the US makes a statement.

but I'd assume/ believe he would only do that, to have those non domestic players influence the team in a way that he thought was necessary.
It might be in a cultural sence or the depth of play.

Anderlecht did quite good, especially considering such a young team almost all season (= some will leave ) makes me kind of sad we lost in such a fashion to Arsenal, could've gotten more but Eu League is about our level atm.
