The Way Of The Gun

Trailer

Much underrated crime thriller with Benecio Del Toro & Ryan Philippe as a couple of thieving stnuc who get caught up in a complicated kidnapping. Realistic gun fights, cracking slow speed car chase, well worth a watch. Also with Juliette Lewis and James Caan.Written by the guy who did The Usual Suspects.

I saw that in the cinema, it was indeed good.

I don't think Benecio Del Toro does bad movies.

American Gangster

I didn't think I was going to like it at all because Russel Crowe is a fucking bumbaclart but the mrs wanted to watch it. I have to say I was really impressed with it, wasn't expecting The RZA, Idris Elba or that other british guy to be in it either.

Abit loopy in places but still a fun film and for something made in 1980 it looks great! Maybe I just like the whole 80s vibe of films as they never seem to really age due to proper effects and tiny amounts of cgi type stuff.
Can totally see the links to Solid Snake (from metal gear)

Image

I really liked it but its pretty polarizing. The music is good, it looks awesome but the story is abit wavey.
All the cast are stnuc more or less and theres some fairly grim scenes.
Dont watch it expecting Drive. Gosling has like 10 lines in the whole film

Image

Thought was good, Its really a film in 3 partsbut i found I only cared about the first two but it was still worth a watch. Some twists I didnt expect (having not read much about it apart from gosling as a motocross rider)
Eva mendes is as hot as ever :U:

Awesome film! the acting of the humans is abit shit but fuck them, it has massive robots punching the shit out of giant monsters! The sound track is great and yeah it looks awesome. Def reccomended!

Tango & Cash

Stupidly OTT example of the buddy cop film, missus hadn't seen it before, laughed our asses off at the terrible dialogue.

Red Heat

Reading a book on Arnhuld at the moment and remembered I hadn't seen this in a while. COCANIUM!

Paycheck

Weird one this/ Based on a Phillip K Dick story, Ben Affleck is an engineer who does weird corporate work then has he memory wiped afterwards to protect intellectual property. Does a big project, gets wiped and finds out he's been framed for murder and had all his stuff nicked. Directed by John Woo, it's not one of his best and it right before Affleck became 'good' again at acting. Interesting idea but badly executed. Props for a solid Paul Giamatti support role.

Match Point

I'm usually a big Woody Allen fan, but this was shite. The dialogue was far too direct and unnatural, the characters were impossible to warm to and it just bored me to tears. I get that Allen doesn't like to waste any time in editing but a film where almost every shot isn't a second longer than it needs to be is exhausting to watch.
