One of the most awkward lectures I have ever seen, that guys interviewing style is terrible.

I don't get you... Are you saying that Kode9 co-produced some of Burial's tunes and also gave inspiration for Burial's Rinse FM dj sets and Burial's hyperdub blog??
He's saying that the show Kode9 used to have on Rinse and the Hyperdub blog that Kode9 used to write inspired Burial. And he's stating that Kode9 coproduced for Burial, which I doubt.
If memory serves correct, I'm sure K9 as given co production credits on the street halo ep
not sure where y'all are getting your info, but it's false
all burial on that ep
I swear I read it from a legit source some time ago, but I can't remember where. I already tryed to have a research on it, but found nothing, yet. I'm sorry if it's wrong, but believe me I'm not the type of person making up things like this. I really have in mind that I read it somewhere. - Wherever it was, could have been a wrong information, also. But fact is, that the DJ-sets Kode9 played on rinse aswell as his blog were an initial inspration for Burial.
from the interview on blackdownsounboy.blogspot.com:
"B: I became obsessed with El-B and garage. Those drums. I’d been into jungle but then heard that stuff and loved it. Looking for those records I found the Hyperdub website, so I emailed Kode 9. I sent him some budget first tunes and he played one of them on Groovetech, which was so funny. For a year I had a break and didn’t send him anything. Then I sent him a CD that was a big step up to see what he thought – and we went from there.
B: It’s just wicked: I like the name “Hyperdub”. It sounded dark. That website – which is down now – was quite important for me. I’ve never sent tunes to anyone except Kode 9."
The whole interview gives a view on the involvement of Kode9 in Burials early development.

I think he’s forcing it at this point tbh--but is such a good producer he can still bang out the old style on purpose. I’ve a strong feeling everything else from this point on will be 4x4 uptempo stuff like “Loner”…

I wouldn't mind that.
Kindred is also a really dark tune but it doesn't have the same sad/mopey feeling as ashtray wasp or his earlier stuff, it's just a big beat for a big dark room

the whole ep doesnt compare to his unreleased tunes tho
untitled 2, feral witchchild, gaslight cold planet, speedball 2 and a few others

All them unreleased tunes on a white label in the same vein as Ashtray Wasp. I'd dig that.

does any1 feel the bit at 3.11 -4.04 in ashtray wasp just sounds kinda rubbish?? the chords/strings or whatever seem like they was just thrown in and it just sounds odd considering how good everything else is

It doesn't really sound forced to me :/
That would be a neat progression for him though. As much as I love his mopey side, it be interesting to see what he could do with some more positive emotions.
