u program kicks whatever way u like..
and u can lowpass the first ones, and gradually introduce more high end to them.. gives the rollidge a more natural aspect...

A note on this, if you've compressed the kicks, it might be a good Idea to resample them after all effects are complete, so that there is a real notable change in volume. Ought to start doing this myself

Bambounou - Highgyptian
The bassline that drops at 1:32
Any tips?
I produce on reason too so if anyone has any idea for a similar sound using reason that would be great!

I know i'm going to get a lot of shit for this but I'd really like to know how to create the sound after the initial growl in Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. It sounds like a couple of saw waves a couple of octives apart, and pitch shifted up? Is that anywhere close? I'm in reason.
quite interested in that bambounou tune too. youngunz ftw

the very first sound in this song, the melody. is it just a variation on a square wave? it sounds so clear and cold, i'm wondering how they got this effect..

THANKS!

Just wondering about the rhythm or wobble in this song and dubstep in general...
Is the fast wobble or bass rhythm from an actual wobble or did the wav file get chopped and sequenced in that way?
Im talking about the fast one around 1:10
Borgore - Ice Cream
Thanks,
KD

So. You're making a remix of a song you can't make any of the sounds of? Normally that's one of the things you need before doing a remix...

i've got the vocal samples, main synth, and the pads, i can remix it now, i would prefer to have the basses used in the original (and mess them around a little), instead of using all completely my own basses.

Okkkkk help me make this sound
Basically its the main bassline of the song
Uhh It sounds like voices and bass and madness and it is mental
The "Excision" voice comes on before the drop because it is taken from Excisions X Sessions Vol 1 mix

krispy... sounds to me like theres some definite pitch shifting thats going on that creates the ascending 'yutyutyut' noise. I maybe be wrong because I'm not super experienced but the lfo seems to me that the lfo is in an ascending sawtooth shape rather than say a sine/triangle/square shape. That's all i can muster lol hope it helps
EDIT:
ahaha I just listened to that soundcloud tune in your sig and by the sound of it, this post probably wasn't any help at all. You got some shit goin for ya mate and it sounds like you know a lot more than i do

Hi peoples.
I need help finding how to make a kind of mid-range bass noise very similar to (if not the same as) the bass in the Kryptic Minds remix of 'Afterlife', or in 'Too Real' by Lomax. They are the best two examples I could find of the sound I'm trying to achieve.
It sounds like resampling or something but I really don't know where to start, I've tried distorting various different sine waves as well as overlapping sine waves to try and phase them but it just sounds horribly messy and nothing like what I want...

The sound used in the repeating high pitch hook can be recreated using FM synthesis and a couple of plugins. I went for Fruity DX10:
Turn the coarse setting up to 3o'clock
Wave setting around 10o'clock
Turn release all the way down
Turn the modulation coarse all the way up.
Now whack a reverb on it (I went for Fruity Reveerb2)
Low cut to about 90'clock
High cut all the way down
Whack up the wet to about 75% and turn the dry down to about 50%.
Size to about 2o'clock
Decay to about 9o'clock
Then a fruity free filter, low pass, frequency around 1500.
In a nutshell, high pitched FM keys with lots of reverb and a bit of low pass filtering.
