don't get the hype about the scientist albums. pretty boring stuff imo. same bassline, same drum pattern in almost every tune. the original tunes are way better.

not sure what you're talking about. aren't you the guy that comments about mediocre house all the time?
i just can't get my head around what people find exciting about that stuff. a lot of the times i get the impression that most people on this forum don't have some kind of quality control or personal taste when it comes to reggae and dub and gonna pick up every record that pops up on rwdfwd or redeye.

I comment about mediocre techno mostly.
nah I was just having a dig at you. and, to be fair, you're right. goes for a lot of things though, not just dub and reggae. new deep medi? best release ever y'all.

I kinda see where youre coming from on something like Space Invaders, but Evil Curse is a straight up classic. Prob my fav dub album along with the Augustus compilation Original Rockers. The atmospheric quality he's added to the originals on Vampires, all I can think of saying is they just go deeper than the originals. Take Johnny Osbourne - He Can Surely Turn the Tide, the originals great, but Scientist just takes it to a different level.

sad that liking a great album has landed me in the "will buy anything off xyz" category

like swear down, i'm not a big dub person, but was under the impression that that was a legendary album not just some ting that popped up on redeye that got hype because it was made in jamaica

Me w/ the new Zam Zam release.. seriously the artwork for that is next level.. best one yet and Zam Zam always bring sick artwork. Tunes are obviously huge as well!

i'd say i have fairly good knowledge about reggae and dancehall.
name me one guy that produced stuff at the level of scientist. half of king tubbys stuff is scientist anyways scientist is probably as good as dub can get. ofc he has his ups and downs but saying Evil curse is overrated or boring is ridiculous imho.
