Yeah kusturica is amazing. 'underground' is incredible and his maradona portrait is pretty fun.

Dark and creative plot with some interesting ideas, occasionally darkly funny, looks good, painfully slow pacing to some of the scenes (but in a good way). Really good. Not a light afternoon entertainment type of a movie as a heads up.
and at COMPLETELY the opposite end of the spectrum

Fucking stupid. But that's why I enjoyed it.

I didn't know anything about it when we put it in... turned out to be one of the best things I've seen all year. I quite want to watch it again, but I know how it's going to make me feel and I'm nervous.

I thought the outsider-awkward-adolescent thing had been done and redone, but this works well. Bittersweet comedy with a good Reilly performance and a funny, lighter take on the subject. Recommended even if you've already seen films on the subject

The Iceman, they added bits to the story which added nothing to the film yet the actual interesting bits in the real story was just a quick forgettable scene. They should have put a lot more into the 'prey to God' scene and there was no crossbow in the whole film!! Should have made the friendship with that other contract killer more interesting too.
The 'prey to God' had potential to be as good as the call it/coin flip scene in No Country For Old Men, instead it was just a part of the film nobody will remember, unless you've seen the documentary then you'll remember it as being utterly disappointing.
Michael Shannon was really good though, great acting.
Not a bad film but not a great one either, the documentary was 1000x more interesting, highly recommend it.

Hard to believe this is real. It's not a film that will be forgotten easily that's for sure.
Absolutely captivating. By far the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. I wonder if the actual film comes with the DVD release of the documentary. I'd also like to know what came of the filmmakers and Anwars Congo who seemed close to mental breakdown.
Thanks for the recommendation

This guy's review of Les Miserables is jokes.
I'm not sure any of you would understand it though.
It's all written in doos.
LES MISERABLES
Okes, this movie is lank tit. The name tunes like it’s a French art film, like about lesbians or something, but it’s not. The plot actually schemes more about all that French revolution kak, and this ballie who has to haul ass to get away from a poes cop who wants to gooi him in the tjoekie. Les Miserables is, like, French for “the miserable ones” and my china, I won’t lie, I had a bit of a driz when I checked it. Fucken okes are being moered left right and centre, and okes are pegging and their cherry’s are drizzing and some of the cherries also peg. Basically the movie tunes that you mustn’t be a doos like my connection Cameron who doesn’t give a fuck about other people and who klapped that one oke last weekend just for skeefing him. It’s more like how if you actually give a shit, and you make an effort, then that’s, like, the biggest gift you can give someone. That one smoking hot goose who was in Batman is in it and also that lank buff bra who was Wolverine. The pictures are moerse rop and the songs are fucken tit. Maximus the gladiator also schemes to sing some songs but he’s kaaaaaaak, although I scheme he’s meant to be the doos in the story so he can’t tune like he’s Cliff Richard or something.
Cuz, I don’t normally give rocks for these kinds of shows but trust me boet, you’ll for sure squeeze a saltie if you check this movie, and it’s a Ga-Ren-Teeeed panty dropper. Les Miz tunes a solid 75 out of a hundreds on Brett’s “Schweet or Swak” scale.

John Dies At The End
Really entertaining and creative movie done with the feeling of a wacky 1980s cult movie done nowadays on a modest budget. There's a fair amount of Buckaroo Banzai in there. It's got hints towards Evil Dead 3 in terms of gore (although overall this isn't a gory film). It's pretty creative overall. However the last third does feel kind of rushed which lets it down a bit. I mean the movie sets up all this interesting and crazy shit happening only to have a very generic climax to the film (although the it is saved a little in the bit running up to the credits). I found it to be an enjoyable movie though and I think it could be a cult hit in years to come. Just a little let down in a couple parts (probably due to budget issues or something).
I haven't read the book, which a number of reviews say is better though so I can't judge from that angle.
